Month after filling out all the papers, Poppy's adoption finally was through. She was now officially Harry's daughter.

A few days later it was Louis' first day alone with Poppy. Harry had to do something in the shop so Louis took a day off to look after her.

"Okay, so this is her favourite teddy if she..." Harry started, but Louis gently interrupted him.

"Haz, babe, chill. I got this. I've babysat my sisters plenty of times," Louis said, turning to Poppy and picking her up. "We got this, right, luv? Papa is going to take care of his business, and we will have a great time."

Harry gave them both a kiss before leaving, still a bit anxious but trusting Louis.

As soon as Harry left, Louis turned to Poppy with a smile. "Alright, little lady, what should we do first?"

They spent the morning playing with her toys and reading picture books. Louis made funny voices for each character, and Poppy giggled uncontrollably. After a while, Louis prepared lunch, feeding Poppy her favourite snacks and making sure she drank plenty of water.

After lunch, they went outside for a bit, enjoying the sunshine strolling through the neighbourhood. Louis' phone rang. "Hey sun" he said as he picked up.

"I just wanted to phone and check how you two are doing" Harry said on the other side of the phone.

"Don't worry luv, We're doing fine. We had lunch and now we're just out for a little walk". Louis replied.

"Alright. I'll try to be home as soon as possible. It shouldn't be too long. Love ya" Harry said.

"Love ya too" Louis replied as he hung up.

When they returned inside, it was naptime. Louis cradled Poppy in his arms, humming a lullaby until her eyes slowly closed. He settled on the couch with her, gently resting her on his chest, careful not to wake her.

When Harry came home that day, seeing Poppy sleeping on Louis' chest, he felt a wave of emotion. He approached them quietly and whispered, "It's not the way I imagined getting here, but this is all I ever wanted—a house, a home, a family." Tears streamed down his face as he spoke."

Louis replied with a soft smile. "I've really enjoyed today. We had a wonderful time together."

At that moment, Poppy woke up, and Harry gently picked her up. "I've missed you, my angel," he said, giving her a kiss.

"So, you've just missed her, huh?" Louis joked while getting up and walking away.

As they got into the kitchen Louis saw Harry's critical stare. "I know I know, it's a mess. Don't worry I'll clean that up. I've been busy with this little monster." Harry just raised an eyebrow at him while putting Poppy in her highchair.

"Maybe it's time to put her in the nursery. I really missed my job, and it was nice to work again today, also she's turning 1 soon." Harry said as he helped Louis tidy up.

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Louis replied, putting away the toys.

"It will be good for her to be around other kids. Just a few hours, and maybe we can share looking after her. You could take some more days off too, maybe," Harry suggested.

"It sounds like a really good idea. We should try this," Louis replied.

In the evening they sat down figuring out a plan for the following weeks.

For Poppy's first day at nursery, both Harry and Louis took the day off. They started early to get themselves and Poppy ready. They ran hectically through the house to make sure they wouldn't forget anything. Once packed in the car, they left for the short ride to the nursery, which was conveniently on the way to their businesses.
