Dev

Everything happened so fast and I hate it like hell.A week full of model exams and labs and shit.Aayush and that girl were constantly studying and they even dragged me along.It's okay I don't mind with my nerd but that guy in other class,I'll beat him to death.He always interrupt us while we are on our project and stares at me everytime.Sometimes I even think he's gay.
I can deal with all these but the letter I got last day was nothing I expected nearer or later.A letter that said there is love but not.It really feels like a show,a damn show.
But those words hits me like a train and it was all I wanted these years when I crumbled apart,when I stayed up in dark at nani's house.

Ringing of my phone disrupts my thoughts.

"Hello" I said nonchalantly

"Did you received the letter beta?" My father asked

"Hmm"

"I'm sorry I couldn't visit you this month"

"Like you visit me every month,come on papa"

"Uh-yeah.. How are you?,how's your studies going?"

"It's okay"

"Hema says you should come here this weekend and we can all have food toge-

"Shut up papa,I don't want to see that woman,the one who stole my mother's position"

"Dev,is that how you speak to elders especially to her,she cares about you,Vriddhi too."

"I don't give anything about your new wife and your child please don't call me if you want to talk about your 'family' I'm going..I've to study" I spats

"Hmm"

How can he just do this to me,to us?
I know mumma was sick and she will die once but I never knew papa will marry another woman and will start a new family.
The reason I don't love anyone is that I don't want to be like my dad.But he was my superhero when I was younger and it hurts now.I know remarriage is okay especially when the wife is dead but I.. I miss them..Our family.

"Dev"

I turns and sees Aayush looking at me intently.

"You were speaking to someone"

"That man called"

"Mate,whatever you claim he had done he's still your father,he always will be..he loves you"

"He doesn't,if he did he wouldn't have gone for another family,leaving me alone"

"Dev yaar he didn't left you,you left his house remember..it's okay everything's gonna be fine"

To my surprise,he hugged me and I never felt this feeling before.I hugs him back as he mumbles something over my shoulder.

"Come on let's revise some lessons real quick for tomorrow.I know you haven't touched the book yet"

I didn't said anything and did everything as Aayush said.

"Aayush how was the exam?" Dhwani asked him as we were heading back to hostel

"It was okay,how about you?"

"Not bad either... um how about you big boy?"

"Don't pull me in your rubbish talks you assholes"

"Can you blame me?You look like a giant and how can I avoid you?"

Aayush laughed at her lame joke

"You don't know what else are giant about me,don't you Miss.Dhwani?" I whispers near her face making her eyes widen.

This is really fun.I laughed so hard as she says goodbye and leaves.

"Yaar you don't have to make her uncomfortable"

"She wasn't,I saw that in her eyes"

"Huh?"

"Oh little boys wont understand these things now come on"

I was waiting for exams to finish so that I can exit this hell temporarily but to where.I wont go to papa's house and I don't want to go to nani's either.I can't rent a house or apartment since my part time job's salary is divided for my fees.Well this is not the first time and I don't give a fuck.

"Yaar,why don't you come with me to Noida?" Aayush asks while packing

"I'm not coming"

"Then where would you go?I can't let you leave here alone you'll drink and ruin yourself"

"You're talking too much Aayush"

He sighs and sits beside me."I may go to Kerala,two days after.. Dhwani invited me to celebrate onam with her family.

The sudden wave of jealousy washed across me and it cringes myself.I know they are really close friends,just friends,but feeling this way is dangerous it seems.

"You should go" I said and walked down the hostel and sees Dhwani at our entrance.

"Oi,you going I wish you never come back" I lie

"And you stays for shift instead of Diljit uncle?"

"You got a nerve"

"And you got nothing only some attractive muscles"

My smirk grows wider as it passes out of her mouth "So you find me attractive ain't you Miss.Dhwani Krishna?"

I asks towering over her.I've never been close to this girl before like this and she smells like..flowers.Her dark brown eyes gazed upon mine wide and I can only stare at them.. It looks like coffe dipped in honey and covered in satin-

"Dhwani,you ready?" I will beat this nerd one day for sure

"Uh-um ye-yes Aayush"

"What happened?Did he said anything?"

She looks upon me once more and mumbles "No"

Oh..

Aayush hugs me and mumbles over my ear "If you change your mind,hit me up and there is a ticket inside our drawer.. I hope you come"

With that they left and I stood there watching them.

Do I need to go? Definitely not!

Suddenly,something on the floor earned my attention.
