Third person's pov:

It was one week before Izuku's 5th birthday, and Inko was worried sick. Her son had shown no signs of developing a quirk. Of course she didn't mind having a quirkless son, but she knew Izuku would not be having that. He has always dreamed of becoming a hero just like All might, and hearing that he was quirkless would crush his little soul to pieces.

Bakugo has started to notice that something was wrong too. He couldn't help but feel bad for him. He knew how much he wanted to become the no.1 hero, up to the point they made a promise that they would compete to be the no.1 hero and would always be by each others side. Of course him being so 'awesome', he had already developed a flashy quirk that Izuku praised so much, and he couldn't help but feel a little prideful.

...

The day finally came, and Izuku was so excited. He didn't have time to worry about not having a quirk because he was having his first birthday party! But of course, every good day comes to an end, and the inevitable truth awaits. So after a week of waiting, Inko decides to take her son to the doctor. Poor little boy, because unfortunately for him the results came out negative; he did not have a quirk. He was devastated, locked himself in his room and refused to come out for days. His dreams were crushed, just like that, like a little ant on the sidewalk. Little did he know something big was awaiting him in the future, aswell as a huge surprise.

News reached the Katsuki household, and boy was young Bakugo devastated. He knew the little nerd was very stubborn and would refuse to give up his dreams, even though its quite literally impossible for him to achieve it, let alone dangerous. He needed to protect his best friend, and for him to do that he needed to discourage him from his dream, to bully him. That was the only way he could think of. Sure it was harsh, and there were others ways to approach that line, but he wasn't the type of boy to do sappy shit and use kind words and gestures to discourage the young boy softly, so he thought it was for the best. And that's exactly what he did, eventually ruining their priceless friendship along the way.
