Chapter 4: Facing reality

Izuku's pov:

It's been an hour since the attack happened. I can't believe I tried to save kacchan, I couldn't even save my self. He was right. I am useless. I shouldn't have embarrassed myself like that. But I couldn't possibly watch him get attacked. I found myself running towards him. It was as if my body was moving on its own. Even though I didn't do much, apart from being a burden to all might, it's the thought that counts, right? Speaking of which, all might was sooo cool today! He's so strong and heroic, the way he saved us in an instant, he is truly a work of art. Which reminds me, where is my notebook?!

Nobody's pov:

Izuku panicked as he looked for his notebook. He couldn't possibly afford to loose it. It had all his hero analysts inside! "Ohmygodohmygod this can't be happening! I can't-", he paused as he spotted his notebook right outside the tunnel. He sighed in relief as he walked towards it, only to find it open and signed by the one and only no.1 hero, All might. " AHHHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE HE SIGNED MY NOTEBOOK!!!!!" ,Izuku screamed in disbelief and excitement. " But if he signed it," Izuku wondered, " that means he is still around here somewhere! I have to find him I have questions to ask!" He quickly got up on his feet and sprinted around the area, desperately looking for the hero. Just as he was about to loose hope, he spotted a brisk 7'2 man with yellow hair. "ALL MIGHT!", he gasped and ran to him, jumping on his leg and held onto his dear life as all might flew into the air. "Young man!", all might stated in shock, " I know you are a fan but this is too much! Let go!", he said as he tried to shake the boy of his leg. "I can't do that! If I let go I will die!" Izuku screamed. "...oh!" All might deadpanned " then look down then, your face is creeping me out"

Izuku's pov:

We landed on top of a roof few minutes later. I begin to panic and mumble," Ohmyallmightican'tbelievethisishappeningiamfinallyherewiththenumberoneherowhatdoisay??!!" Suddenly, All might coughed out blood and steam started to surround him as . "OH MY GOD ALL MIGHT ARE YOU OKAY?!", I panicked. "Yes, yes *cough cough* I'll be alright", all might breathed. I wanting to ask if he was hurt but I paused as I saw a skeleton sitting in front of me. Where the hell did all might go?! " Relax kid. I am all might. This is just my original form." All might said, responded to the million questions swimming in my head. "WHAT??!!!", I screamed in disbelief. ( then all might explains what happened and stuff. Yk what happened 😭)

"Listen kid", all might begins, " don't start rambling to your friends about this. You are the only stranger that knows, apart from a few other people I trust. Do you understand?" He says firmly. I realise the depth of the situation I was in. "Yes. I understand. But, I have a question." He sits up and raises his head to indicate that he was listening. "Is it possible for someone to become a hero without a quirk? I was born quirkless, but I have always dreamed of becoming a hero. So tell me, is it possible?" I looked at him with hope in my eyes. There was a long silence between us before he finally spoke up. " No one has ever asked me questions like this. But to answer your question, no. It is simply not possible. You saw what happened today. Without a quirk you won't even be able to fight the weakest villains in town. I saw how you ran to save that young man, and I'll admit you do have a heroic heart. But that isn't enough to help you become a hero. You need a quirk to do that. You can become a police at most, all though there won't be anything left to do other than cleaning up the heroes' mess, but it's still works at least. I'm sorry." All might states half-heartedly as he walks away, leaving me speechless. A wave of emotions hit me at once, making me hit the ground with my knees in defeat. Even All might doesn't believe that I can become a hero. Was my dream just a childish fantasy all this while? Is it really impossible? A bunch of thoughts spun in my brain as tears start to fall on the ground. Realisation of my ignorance hit me so hard I couldn't even make a sound despite the fact that I was shedding tears.

Is this really the end of my dreams?
