Time skip of one week

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 After the day Toko came back to school, neither girl brought up the events that took place the rest of the month. The Friday after Toko acted as if nothing had happened, and Komaru decided to do the same. Though she did often think about it.
One day, about a week after the incident, Komaru sits at her desk glancing at Toko every once in a while like usual. However, this time she isn't just staring for no reason. Komaru, deep in thought, is quickly taken out of it by one of her older friends Chieko talking to another girl she barely knew. At least she had never bothered to pay attention.
Why pay attention to other people when Toko's with me all the time?
The girl's conversation seemed to be about a sleepover they had had over the weekend. Komaru eavesdrops on them just a bit longer before coming to a realization. She and Toko had been friends for over half a year and Toko hadn't even been to her house yet(or the other way around for that matter). Sure they hung out at school every single day, and they met up at the playground on the weekends every once in a while, but it would be nice to get to the next "level" of friendship. With her mind set, Komaru quickly hatches a plan to ask Toko about it while they feed Kameko for the day.
"I don't know..." Toko sighs, throwing a small piece of cashew into Kameko's container.
Another thing Komaru had noticed about Toko: the moment she began speaking in full sentences she had a tendency to sound rather pessimistic, all the time.
Komaru huffs quietly, "What do you mean by that?"
"It means I don't know if my parents would even let me go into somebody else's house, let alone sleep over," Toko says quietly, seeming a bit annoyed having to talk about her family more than she had too. Why did Toko always end the conversation so quickly? Komaru still didn't understand.
"Well you could at least ask!"
The other girl looks as if she's considering the idea for a moment before signing in defeat, "Fine, I'll ask tonight, but don't expect good news."
Komaru ignores the last part in favor of being positive, "Yay!"
~~~~~~

The next day when Komaru walks into class and looks over at her and Toko's desks as per usual, she notices a change in her friend's physical behavior; instead of staring off into space like she's lost without Komaru, she was looking around the room somewhat impatiently. That was until she had seemingly noticed Komaru. Toko waved her hand towards herself, signaling for Komaru to hurry over. She takes the hint and quickly puts her things away before speed walking towards her desk.

"What's up?" Komaru asks before gasping, suddenly remembering their conversation from yesterday, "Did they say yes!?"

Toko looks down at her lap for just a moment before looking back up to reveal a close-mouthed smile, nodding quickly.

"See!? All you had to do was ask!" Komaru cheered, instinctively beginning to swing her legs under her desk.

Toko shrugs, "It was not easy."

Komaru doesn't respond, choosing to begin imagining what the coming weekend would bring for the two.
