Chapter 5 - Party II

*About exactly 20 minutes before*

As the four excited and slightly apprehensive boys entered the dungeons they each felt amazed at the magnificent sight they were seeing. The Slytherin common room was not what they expected. Unsurprisingly the group imagined a dark and dull room similar to a real dungeon where everything is metal and no life can even exist without the light. How wrong they were.

The ceilings were lower than their tall ones as theirs was a tower common room, but it gave the room a sense of comfort and warmth and windows did exist in the well lit room unbeknownst to the boys as they were like sun catchers for the colour green. Candles were lit in every corner with some green lanterns floating in the air. The fire was huge and some of couches and chairs were shaped like cauldrons adding a personal touch. The room was exquisite and it's safe to say it was not expected.

James was the first member to speak "Wow, this was not what I was expecting holy fuck" standing still in admiration "You can say that again" murmured Sirius as he couldn't find a negative thing to say. Remus although taking it in for all its glory was a bit more anxious than the others "Right lads think we better make a move, we may as well have a giant sign saying Gryffindors here, if we don't move out off the entrance" they all replied in unison as they subconsciously headed towards the drink table. The party was packed with 6th and 7th years which was a good thing for the gang as nobody noticed them. "I wonder if Lily is here yet" looking around him for a red head amongst the big crowd "Oh shut up Prongs, her name is banned tonight and you are not even allowed to think about her for this entire party or I'm kicking you out myself" sighed a fed up Sirius handing James his first drink "Right guys we better split up to be more unnoticeable so I'll stay with Pads and you and Pete stick together ok?" Instructed the taller one sharing a quick glance and smirk with Sirius. They all agreed and just before they split Remus whispered to Peter "Just keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid" "That's an impossible task this is James were talking about" and he pointed towards the boy who was somehow already finished chugging his third drink. "Just do what you can and keep him away from L I L Y" Peter rolled his eyes and moved closer to James trying his best to follow Remus's wishes as he walked off with Sirius.

James planted himself down next to a big group of Hufflepuffs who were sharing round a joint and taking turns taking hits. James had his 6th drink in his hand so it's safe to say he was starting to get drunk. Peter, trying his best to slow him down tried to take his drink off of him many times but it was no use as James was no doubt the strongest boy in the school. Just as the blunt was passed to James it was taken straight off him by someone standing over him. Without hesitation James stood straight up to confront the thief coming face to face with none other than Mulciber. "Now please tell me if I'm hallucinating or not, but am I seeing a disgusting filthy Gryffindor blood traitor here in the Slytherin common room, at a strictly NO Gryffindor party?" James snorted at this as his confidence had sky rocketed from the alcohol "For the first time in your life sad little life Mulciber you are actually seeing correctly and tell me this, how long did it take for you to come with two adjectives with the exact same meaning, must be why your face is so scrunched up or is that just it normally?" James took the blunt straight out his hand and took a puff blowing it directly in his face before continuing to pass it to the next person in the circle. Mulciber was practically shaking with fury from the public embarrassment of being insulted in his own common room as many laughs were heard throughout the common room after James's comments. "You better leave right now Potter or you won't make it back to your precious tower" Mulciber raised his wand to James's chin and James extracted his from his pocket with much less hate than Mulciber. James knew Mulciber was about to blow a fuse and quite frankly he didn't care as he knew he was much better at dueling than he was. " Oooooo very scary what spell are you going to use? alohamora, cause just in case you were, that one is for opening doors" James tapped his nose with his wand condescendingly as a reference to when in their 4th year he accidentally said it in a dual resulting in the whole room erupting in laughter. Mulciber was just about to shout a spell that seemed to begin with sept- but was interrupted by Malfoy who seemed fed up and slightly concerned with what was going on, after all James was head boy. "Potter just the idiot I was looking for, I have a question for you, have you seen your precious Lily tonight?" James was halted by this as he had actually forgotten about Lily with the amount of drinks he had consumed "No why, sure she's not here is she?" " See that's the funny thing, she was here but then she went away with someone for a dare, hmmmmm who was it let me think" James was now very interested and he was starting to feel intense anger bubble up within him "Who was it Malfoy! Stop playing games" "I think it was about twenty minutes ago so the time for them to stop shagging is up, if you wanna get them?" Malfoy slyly stated loving the power he held over James in this moment "WHO ?" This time James put his wand directly to Malfoy's chest as he was beginning to see red. Malfoy trying to stay composed, was clearly nervous and Mulciber was absolutely no help to Malfoy as he was already away in some corner doing another line of coke.
"Nott's dorm, last flight of stairs" Malfoy choked out as James wand was pressed deeply into his skin. James wasted no time and headed straight up to the dorms leaving Malfoy with a smug smirk on his face while also being slightly shook.
