"Holy shit," I mutter to myself while standing in front of the floor-length mirror in my new room. I look like a rotten tomato.
The academy uniform is a gray long sleeve collar undershirt and a black vest with a tacky red bow in the front paired with a plaid black and red skirt.
Odette gave me a black silk bow to tie in my hair before she left for business she didn't disclose.
I gather my hair in a high ponytail--a few pieces escaping but I'm too lazy to redo it. I slip the bow into my hair.
I don't recognize myself dressed like this. It looks too perfect. And who the fuck wears bows? I sigh and survey my surroundings.
The room isn't as bad as I thought it'd be--it's actually pretty cozy with a big bed decorated with white covers and pillows and a huge vanity next to it. Besides that, it's pretty empty.
I ignore my discomfort about my outfit and exit the attic.

"Can we ditch her now?" Madeline stage-whisper to Liana behind me and Bastien.
I roll my eyes and refuse to give her the reaction she wants.
"What classes do I have?" I ask him instead.
He pulls out a folded piece of paper from his pocket. The boy's uniform is simpler than the girl's--just a white collar shirt and a dark red blazer jacket paired with black pants and a black tied encrusted with the academy's logo which is a golden sparrow.
He hands the paper to me. "Rox gave me this--I'm pretty sure nearly half our classes are together so at least you'll know someone."
I appreciate his welcoming attitude, giving him a warm smile before unfolding the paper to see my schedule.
1st Period - Chemistry
2nd Period - English
3rd Period - Trig
Followed by a lunch break.
4th Period is Etiquette
Classes after lunch are Film, Journalism, and History.
I'm a little scared of Etiquette class.
"Great," I put my schedule in my bag. "Do you have a map of the school or something?"
Bastien chuckles. "Don't worry, I'll guide you through the path to your classes today so you can get used to it."
We finally reach the school—it still looks empty and a little scary.
"You know, Amie, you could just go back to the cottage," Madeline says which causes me to turn around. Her and Liana are matching dutch braids and friendship bracelets.
"I'm fine, thanks," I throw her a sarcastic smile.
"Can you go two seconds without being rude?" Bastien chides at her.
Before she can retort, he takes my hand and weaves me through the courtyard. He leads me into the school and we quickly stop at one of the lockers labeled Amie Abras next to Bastien Blaise.
He opens the locker that apparently doesn't have a lock. I guess Hansen students aren't scared of their stuff being stolen.
"Since you have Chem first, I'll meet up with you after," Bastien explains as he grabs for my bag. He pulls it off my shoulder and stuffs it in my locker.
"The room you're going to look for is 09E. Maddie is in tht class but if you don't feel comfortable asking help from her then I'm sure one of the other students would be happy to." He smiles at me. "You gonna be okay here?"
