─︎─︎ Being in a world full of superheroes and villains, Aurora had always felt more on the sidelines. At the age of 6, she had her first encounter with the dark knight who had saved her and her aunt Clara from some low-life thief. She still recalls the edge of the gun being pointed at her. Hiding behind her aunt, the man yelled the words, 'Give me your wallet! come on!' Her aunt, with one arm, stretched forward to try and keep him from coming any closer, and the other wrapped around young Rory's head. She could feel her aunt shaking and crying out, 'Please don't!' Before she could hear him react back, everything went quiet.
Still being attached close to her aunt she could feel and hear her aunt's heavy breaths. With a tear-eyed face, she moved her head gradually. Maybe he gave up and left. She hoped. But no, standing just a few feet away was the black-caped crusader. Before she could see anything else, Aunt Clara pushed Rory's head to her side. She still heard it, she flinched at the sound of the pounding of fists and the cracking of bones. Grunts and yells had come from which she had only presumed to be from the burglar.
Then once again, everything went quiet. Shifting her crown, a black-gloved hand extended towards her, ' It's okay, you're safe now.' He assured her. Instead of reaching for his hand, she ran to hug him by the neck. Of course, Batman froze, being caught off guard. Within a split second, he hugged her back. The sniffling of the young girl's nose filled the silence between the three.
From then on, Aurora strived to enable those in need— always having the obligation to do good. 'With great power comes great responsibility' is something her aunt had always told her. Now lodged into her mind, it's a burden she carries with her. If you have the ability to do something, make sure that you do it for the good of others.
Being on the sidelines soon changed when at the age of 15, she was bitten by a radioactive spider. The spider being created by LexCorp granted her powers. Making her faster, stronger, and have quicker reflexes— she could stick to walls for sake! The first couple of days of receiving these so-called powers were. . . interesting. The blonde had to learn how to control and cooperate with her abilities.
