Bloody Trail

On this cold and quiet December night in the magical city of Nocteria, everything looked stable and safe on the surface. There was no gust of wind in the trees, they stood straight and rigid, like rows of mauls in the countryside. The light of the full moon pierced the blanket of thin clouds and bathed the city in its light. Its silvery light cast a spell over the city, but this light was also absorbed by the dark atmosphere of Nocteria. The place was unnaturally dark. Perhaps the insidious nature of the black hearts of the strange races roaming the streets made the darkness of the night even thicker. Still, everything was wrapped in a strange peace.

In the very middle of the city, behind this peace, a silent threat lurked. That threat was absorbed in the darkness of the night as if it was its second nature. Its camouflage was so complete that its intentions were wrapped in secrets: a thirst for destruction that it wanted to unleash on the world. A thirst for blood. As Satine hurried down one of Nocteria's narrow streets, his black boots ticked like time bombs on the concrete. He raised his head to the sky and a strange joy surrounded him. He was enjoying his cursed gift. For him, the power that came with this gift was far more important than its disadvantages. He would continue to drain life from this city, his motivation being society's aggressive stance against his race.

However, unlike most of his kind, he was nearly invincible. Very few people knew how to permanently kill an evolved vampire.

Although Satine's sensitivity was exceptional, he kept looking behind him, where a young woman was following him. She was moving silently, hiding in the shadows so that she could not be seen. Satine laughed lightly, because the woman had a syringe filled with poison in her hand. But Satine was confident in his power. "The weapon is there, but will it pierce the darkness in its heart?" she thought.**Literary repetition:**Kaia kept her pace through the narrow, fog-filled streets of Nocteria. Her breathing was fast and uncertain as she drew closer to the beast. Suddenly, she felt an unusual coolness on the back of her neck, and her heart began to beat faster. The syringe stem she held in her hand reflected her determination, while her eyes glowed with hope to save the city from those ancient, troublesome beasts.

It would have been suicidal for her to come here without help, and she remembered her shadow standing at her back. She tried to look ahead and saw that the beast had disappeared. The ray of hope faded, and she was sure that the mission had failed. Kimrin, the stern leader of her group, 'The Fraternity', would punish her severely.Kapa chanted the summoning spell while he gestured for his ally to remove his cover. But, as he uttered the first syllable, a dark shadow passed over him, disrupting the power of his spell. The darkness around was so thick that it was affecting him physically. His eyes were burning mysteriously, and every breath felt painful and labored.

As he raised his head, he saw the cold, fierce gaze of his enemy. The enemy's face was like the gills of a white snake, his eyes glowing in bizarre colors: one like green polish and the other like blue sapphire. Fear spread through Kapa's bones as the enemy attacked. He raised his eyes and pointed to the syringe, but it was too late. The enemy knocked him off his feet, seemingly defying gravity.Kaia replied, regaining his composure, "I'm fine, but I think there was poison in the syringe." There was a hint of worry and exhaustion in her voice. Vittorio saw a flash of relief, but also uneasiness in her eyes.As the newest recruit to the group of witches in the Fraternity, she quickly learned that very few hunters could match the sprinting speed of a fully matured pisshop, and as such, she (a mere newborn) had zero chance of surviving a one-on-one fight. Of course, tonight was not meant to be one-on-one.

Kaia slammed awkwardly to the ground, landing flat on the spot between her back and spine. Pain shot from the point she hit the ground to her back and side. She cried out in pain as her hand moved to comfort her throbbing back. Scared, tense, and exhausted, she looked around to find her opponent, who had apparently figured out her intentions. She saw nothing but the syringe she had dropped during her fall, a few feet away from her. She tried to get up from her uncomfortable position in the hope that her prey would strike from the darkness again, but a stinging pain quickly reminded her of the rag. She could only get to her hands and knees. After a few attempts, she stood up, preparing herself at some insane level to defend herself against the monster. It was disappointing to find her cloak was a syringe filled with poison, not her stunted peach. Then she saw the black cloak on the ground a few feet behind her. It took her a few seconds to realize that the cloak was not just a cloak but her opponent lying on the ground, motionless. Kaa knew she had killed her opponent.
