Chapter 3: The Castle's Shadow

Fuck you physics 😡

Sun's POV
———————

Nothing could compare to this horrible moment right now. The bitter food matched the tastelessness of the drinks. Where had all the flavor gone? Had it been stolen? Another bland thing to add to this dinner party. At least I can be alone in my thoughts, what was there to talk about? The king and queen from the visiting kingdom had distracted my father with their stupid questions, of course I wasn't upset by this. I do not want to interact with them anyways. Their daughter, Roxanne, wasn't someone i'd talk to on the daily.. She focused on being 'popular' and 'beautiful'. Who even cares about popularity? Bring yourself is way better, even if nobody likes the way you are...

"Right, dear?" My father would suddenly look over at me, interrupting my thoughts with a question that I didn't know the answer to..

I would look up from my dinner plate with a look of confusion on my face. "Pardon?" I would ask, suddenly noticing the stares from the king and queen, and the disgusted look on Roxanne's face.

"You are to marry Princess Roxanne." He would repeat what I had not heard. I wish I could have just gone back in time and respond with 'yes' so I would not have to hear THAT.

"But father—" I tried to change his mind. I did not want to marry her of all people.. Plus, she isn't even my type.

"My word is final. It is to unite our kingdoms and keep the bloodlines royalty." He states, looking back at the royals next to him then back at me... "Understood?"

"Understood.."

I cannot believe this. Marrying a girl I do not love, (or like) just for the sake of the kingdoms? Why not just sign a peace treaty? I do not understand.

"Okay, okay... What to bring..." I search the drawers in my room, looking for the necessities for living on my own.

A map would be helpful, do I even have a map? Eh.. Do i really need it though? Nah. Leave it!

Clothes. Obviously i'm gonna take a change of clothes! Nobody wants to wear the same thing for a whole week..

I continued to pack a small bag, where would I go? I don't even know myself. I do wonder what is beyond these castle walls.

POV Change- 3

The royal would grab his back and quietly open the door.. Leaving out his bedroom window would be risky to do again.. He looked down the hall and hid in the shadows.. Making sure no guards would spot him escaping.. Sneaking behind pillars and vases he would find himself stuck in the open area.. He looked around for an escape route.. The hall window would be the best option. For some reason the guards never kept a well eye on the hall windows... Which was quite stupid. The prince would exit through the window, making sure no one would spot his escape..

He fled the castle, not knowing what he would find next. An adventure and future lies ahead..

The sandy bottom layer of the ocean.. It felt nice to play in, but my oh my it hurts the eyes. Sun swam through the open sea, finding himself passing schools of herrings, and anchovies. The bright colors of the cluttered sea was like looking at a draw of markers, all different in a way.. Adding light to the darkness of the ocean. It wasn't the first time he had been out past the castles walls, and it might be his last if he succeeds.. He usually just snuck out to collect shells for his collection, but this was different. The sea was surprisingly quiet during the nights, no mermen, no mermaids.. Just the fish grouped together.
