Eastbourne Rd, Kingston 11:10 a.m.
Ramiera stared down at the positive pregnancy test in her hand and sighed. She wiped the tears that trickled down her cheeks and stood up, wiping herself. A knock on the bathroom door startled her as she pulled up her underwear.
"A shit yah shit?" Her younger brother Roshae asked and she slipped the pregnancy test into the waist of her panties, dropping the long T-shirt over it.
"Nuh worry, me'll leave some in yah fi yuh full yuh gut," She replied, rudely.
"Watch how mi a guh kunk yuh," He said and she washed her hands after flushing the toilet.
She opened the bathroom door and her brother stood outside with his toothbrush and his rag on his shoulder. He glared at her and she smiled sweetly before he pushed her aside. A laugh escaped her lips as she went to her room.
Shutting the bedroom door, she stripped down to her undergarments and got ready to leave. She got paid Friday and needed to do some shopping but planned on going to see her ex first to tell him about her pregnancy.
If it's one thing, she dreaded going to see him. Their breakup was horrible and he took great pleasure in watching her suffer. They started dating when she was 17 years old and after two and a half years of being together, she started to see his true colors.
Ramiera felt she had to beg him to show her affection and she had too much pride to do that. Whenever he would call her to come stay with him, he was more interested in sex and his needs more than hers. She'd turn him down and then he would just ignore her.
A few months went by and she ignored his dry text messages. She told him they were over the last time she saw him which was over two months ago. Ramiera didn't want the unnecessary drama, especially since she already felt like a slave in her own home.
Her family lived in a four-bedroom house. It was her mother, stepfather, brother Roshae, aunt, cousin, and her stepbrother. Her mother, Keyshia is married to Deighton who had a 3-year-old son before they got married.
His son Tajae is now 10 years old and shares a room with Roshae who turned 18 in the next 5 months.
Ramiera had to contribute to the groceries and bills in the house which she was fine with. What bothered her was that her aunt lived free of cost, ate everything, and didn't work. Her stepfather argued with her mother about it but she claimed she couldn't turn her back on her sister.
Kelly was 35 years old with an 11-year-old daughter, Jada. She's been with them for 6 years, never went out to get a job, and depends on Keyshia to send her child to school. Keyshia then forced Ramiera to help out more or she'd have to leave.
