Her hands trembled as she tried to gather the pieces, her heart sinking deeper with each passing second.
Aarnav, who had witnessed the scene, rushed to Dhriti’s side.
"Bhabhi, it's okay. Don’t worry about it." He gently helped her clean up the broken pieces. Dhriti, fighting back tears, whispered,
“I didn’t mean to… bhaiya..”
Dadi maa, who had been watching from a distance, approached slowly.
"Dhriti beta, accidents happen. Don't worry about it." Her voice was soft but understanding. Dhriti nodded, but the pain of Pranith’s words weighed heavily on her heart.
Maa went to Dhriti and hugged and and Dhriti broke complete in her arms ,
"Beta don't worry jab ye ayega bapas tab main isko bataungi jyada gussa aa gya isme aur tu chinta na kar main kalash thik kara dungi ." Said maa rubbing hand on Dhriti's hairs.
(Beta, don't worry, when he comes back I will surely scold him and you don't worry, I will get the vase fixed)She nodded wiping off her tears.
"You know why he reacted like this he is the one person who was very close to his Dada ji and that kalash belong to his Dada ji only. Said maa making her understand.
Later that evening, Dhriti sat alone in the room after doing all the work and some chit chat with family members, trying to compose herself. She hadn’t expected him to be so harsh.
Her mind was swirling with emotions— confusion, and a strange sense of guilt. Just then, Pranith entered the room, his face still stern.
He stood silently for a moment, watching her. Dhriti didn’t look up she don't want to face his anger again . Her silence spoke volumes. Pranith’s anger had faded, replaced by a hint of regret, but his pride wouldn’t let him apologize. Instead, he spoke in a cold voice,
"Next time, be more careful."
Dhriti nodded, her eyes fixed on the ground. She wanted to say something, to explain herself, but the words are not comeing. Pranith turned and walked towards the door, his hands clenched into fists after remembering his behavior.
Inside, he hated himself for hurting her, but he wasn’t ready to show that side yet.
"Ji m..maaf kar dijeye g...galti se ho gya".
(Please forgive me)He got stunned after everything she is apologizing to him instead of being angry with him.
"It's ok , aur cheezo ke sath khud ka bhi dyaan rakho. He said and left to make a phone call.
(With everything takecare of yourself too)As the night deepened, Dhriti lay awake, and Pranith is sleeping beside her ,
Her mind still replaying the day’s events. She loved Pranith, but his walls were too high. And even though he cared for her but he never want to show it why?
The next morning, Dhriti woke up early to prepare breakfast, her heart still heavy from the previous day incident and she is thinking that panith will hate her now.
She moved around the kitchen quietly, not wanting to disturb anyone. As she was making parathas , Aarnav entered, flashing her a comforting smile.
“Good morning, Bhabhi. Need any help?” he asked, noticing her slightly red eyes.
Dhriti shook her head. “No, bhaiya, I’m fine. Thank you.”
Aarnav could tell something was still off from yesterday, but he didn’t press her. He just gave a reassuring nod and sat down, chatting casually to lighten the mood.
