Chapter 1

Coby was mopping the floor of the kitchen when he heard the door open. He tensed, expecting the swish of Alvida's club. When no sound came, he slowly turned to the door, expecting to see her. In her place, two figures stood in the doorway. One was a blue penguin and the other looked like a large transponder snail.

As they walked into the room, Coby noticed that they had cuts and bruises on their bodies. They also carried weapons in their hands, as well as lumps on their heads. Coby normally would have been scared, but something was off. There was something about them that seemed beaten, almost ashamed.

"Who are you?" Coby asked the pair. "My name is king DDD and this here is my pal Escargoon." The penguin replied. "Well then DDD, what are you doing on this ship?" Coby asked. "Me an Escargoon here fell out of that there hole in the sky." DDD said, pointing at his friend and the sky for context.

"What!" Coby gasped at the news, "you guys are from another dimension as well?" "What do you mean?" DDD asked Coby. "Well, your story matches up with the story of some new marine called Kirby who came from another dimension." Coby replied.

Instantly, DDD and Escargoon's mouths fell to the floor. "This is where that there Kirby went?" DDD questioned, shaking Coby in the process. "Yes, did you know him?" Coby asked. "Yeah, I knew that pink pipsqueak." DDD replied.

"While I know why you two landed here, why are you still here?" Coby asked. "Let me handle this one sire." Escargoon said. "When me and DDD landed on this ship, the captain of this ship made us her newest cabin boys." "Naturally, we resisted, then we tried to fight her, and now we're cabin boys." Escargoon explained to the boy.

"Y-you two fought lady Alvida and lived?" Coby exclaimed, "but nobody has ever been hit with her iron club and lived to tell the tale!" "Well me and Escargoon are one tough bunch!" King DDD boasted, cutting into the conversation.

" So you guys got made into cabin boys as well?" Coby asked the two. "Yes we are."Escargoon replied. "What is a cabin boy anyway?" DDD questioned. "It's hell. You work all day, cleaning the ship top to bottom, then get criticized for your work." Coby stated. "You get no respect, you're beaten for messing up slightly, and you're forced to work until you die."

DDD was horrified at the news. He couldn't imagine someone going through something so horrible. While Escargoon was fine with it. "Well, that was basically my life serving his royal fatty, king DDD." Escargoon thought aloud. DDD slowly turned towards him. As Escargoon slowly realized what he had said, he braced himself for the smashing pain on his head.

He then felt a warm embrace on his side. As Escargoon turned, he saw DDD hugging him. "I'm sorry Escargoon. I didn't realize how bad I was treating you." DDD blubbered. "Are you crying sire?" Escargoon questioned. DDD hid his eyes from sight. "No I'm not, I'm too much of a man!" He yelled, putting on a brave face despite his wet eyes.

"Well look at this," spoke a voice behind them, "what a touching story." The two then noticed that Coby had turned white out of fear. As they turned around, Alvida's iron club smashed down on their heads. As they hit the floor, Coby was feeling some mixed emotions. He was scared for his life, but also sad, as his new friends were surly dead.

But as he stared at them, they slowly stood back up, but with larger bumps on their heads. Coby and Alvida were both shocked that they had lived from her attack twice. Alvida then smirked, "well, I guess you two have some tough skulls." "Well, back to work, all of you!" She screamed at the three. "Yes ms. Alvida" they replied as they started mopping. Once she finally left, they sighed in relief.

"Hey Escargoon." DDD whispered as he put his mop back in the water. "What is it majesty?" Escargoon replied. "Well, I wanted to tell you that your different than back on dreamland." DDD answered while moving his mop to a dirty spot.

"Are you sure sire?" Escargoon questioned while feeling his shell. "I don't feel any different," At that moment, a part of his shell fell off. As they stared at it in horror, they noticed that the chunk did look different. As DDD picked it up, he noticed that the shell looked like a mouth piece on a phone, and there was a string attached to it.

DDD then put the shell back in its place. "I've been meaning to ask you about that." Spoke Coby. "How is a transponder snail giant and moving?" "What's a transponder snail" DDD questioned as he mopped a new part of the floor. "You use them to call people." Coby explained.

"Really?" DDD responded. "WOW, you changed into something new Escargoon!" "I wonder if there were any other changes to us." DDD questioned. "Well sire," spoke Escargoon as picked his mop up, "we'll just have to wait and see."
