Chapter 4

"Hey Coby!" Luffy yelled as Escargoon pulled into the dock. "Who's Zoro? I heard Alvida mention him." "He's a famous bounty hunter, a devil in human flesh." Coby said, with fear in his voice. "Dang, he sounds like that there Kirby." DDD committed. "He is supposed to be tied up here, why do you ask?"

"I was thinking about asking him to join my crew." Luffy said truthfully. DDD and Coby looked shocked at this. "But you're a pirate! He hunts and kills them all the time!" Coby said, worried for his new friend.

"Yeah, but I bet I'm strong enough to beat him!" Luffy said, with confidence in his eyes. DDD wondered if he was stupid, or really that strong. "We're here!" Escargoon yelled as the ship parked in the dock.

As the four of them walked into town, Alvida towed behind them, Luffy stopped to buy an apple. "So where's Zoro at?" He questioned. As the words left his mouth, the people nearby instantly ducked behind cover.

"It seems his name is taboo here." Coby said to Luffy. DDD and Escargoon wondered just how dangerous he had to be to have the townspeople hid at the mere mention of his name. "Besides, he's probably up in the marine base." Coby said to Luffy.

"I heard that the leader of this base is a guy called Ax-hand Morgan." Coby continued. As the words left his mouth, the people nearby instantly ducked behind cover. "So it's one of those bases." Luffy thought to himself.

"I understand the fear about Zoro, but why are they scared of the marine captain?" Coby asked. Luffy sighed as he walked towards the base. "Coby, in this world, you have to understand that not all marines are good." Luffy said.

As Coby followed, he had a crisis inside. He struggled with the concept of bad marines. "But the marines are supposed to be the good guys." He thought to himself as they approach the base.

As they reached the base, Luffy walked over to a lady in a box. "Hello, I'd like to cash in on her bounty." He said as he passed Alvida over to her. "Thank you, here is your cash." She said as she took Alvida and passed over a sack of money.

"Thank you." He said as he walked away. As they walked around the base to a spot where there was a ladder, Coby asked, "so you finally wised up about getting Zoro to join your crew?" "Nope! I just needed to go somewhere unsupervised." Luffy said as he stretched his arm around all four of them.

"What you doing?!" DDD yelled in fear as Luffy stretched his arm to the top of the wall. "Gum Gum rocket!" He yelled as the four of them were rocked into the sky. As they flew up and down the sky, Luffy noticed a yellow haired boy taking some girls rice balls, stepping on them, then having her chucked out of the base.

As they fell down into the base, they were all in pain, except Luffy, who got up and walked over to Zoro. He was more than shocked after seeing four things fly over the wall and crash land. "Hello there, is your name Zoro?" The man standing in front of him asked. "Who's asking?" Zoro replied.

"I'm Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm going to be king of the pirates!" He said to him. Zoro's face took on a dark look. "And what would a pirate want with a pirate hunter?" He asked Luffy. "Simple, I want you to join my pirate crew." Luffy told him.

"What!?" Zoro yelled, a dumbfounded look on his face. "You do realize that I hunt pirates right?" He asked Luffy. "Yeah, but I also noticed that you're tied up, so if I get you down, you have to join my crew." Luffy told him, trying to undo the rope tying him to the cross.

"Stop it!" Zoro yelled. "At the end of the month I will be released, and I intend to wait it out!" "Alright then." Luffy said as he stopped untying the ropes, "I'll be back at the end of the month to pick you up."

"Hey, before you leave, can you give me those rice balls?" Zoro said, pointing to the mud covered rice on the ground. "Ok then, that girl probably wanted you to enjoy them anyways." Luffy said as he crammed the muddy rice balls into Zoro's mouth.

"Tell that girl they were delicious." Zoro mumbled with a mouthful of food. "Alright then." Luffy said as he walked over to his friends.

They had finally recovered from the fall as they felt something constrain them. In horror, they realized that Luffy was planning on launching them back over the wall. "Gum-Gum rocket!" Luffy yelled as he stretched his arm to the top of the wall. "Not again!" DDD yelled as the four of them flew back over the wall and crashed into the ground.

"Stop doing that rubber brains!" DDD yelled as he hit Luffy in the head with his hammer. His head then stretched forward, shooting off before coming back. "All right then, now let's go get some food!" Luffy yelled as he led the way back to shells town, where they stopped at a bar to get some food.
