For the next few hours, Nova was immersed in the Network's inner workings. The resistance group was far less organised than she had anticipated. They weren't just a handful of people sitting around and complaining about the Algorithm - they were engineers, programmers, and former citizens who had turned against the very system that had once dictated their lives.
"We've hacked into the city's core data streams." Zara explained as they sat at a cluttered desk in the corner of the room. "The algorithm has layers of security, but every system has a weakness. We've found some cracks in its architecture, but exploiting them will take time- and people."
"What about the rest of the city?" Nova asked, her eyes scanning the charts and codes displayed on the screens, overwhelmed by the excessive amount of data they'd gathered. "Do they know any of this?"
Zara shook her head. "Most people don't want to know.They're comfortable in their routines. But some... They're starting to see the cracks. The glitch with your MatchAssignment isn't isolated. We've been hearing about strange things happening all over the city."
Nova's mind whirled. "So, what's the plan?"
Zara leaned in, her voice low. "We're going to infiltrate the Algorithm. Find its core programming, and rewrite it. Once we have control, we can give people back their choices."
Nova's heart began to race at the enormity of it all. Could they really do it? Could they dismantle the system that had shaped their lives for so long?
Before she could respond, an alarm blared throughout the building. The screens flickered, and the door to the entrance slammed shut.
"We've been detected," Zara muttered, her expression darkening. She grabbed Nova's wrist."We need to move,now."
Nova's pulse quickened. They weren't just fighting against a system - they were fighting for their survival.
As they raced through the narrow halls,the weight of her decision settled on her shoulders. There was no turning back now. She was no longer just a citizen of Circutropolis. She was part of the rebellion, part of the fight for freedom.
And the Algorithm would not let them go easily.
