Once upon a time, as all fantasy stories start, I was 13. We were watching the news. Like seriously, who does that?! My parents, apparently. They made me and my sisters, Greta and Danielle watch it everyday, claiming that news stories thee days are so inaccurate and fake. Not sure when they thought the news we got today was recorded, but okay. Anyways, the news came on. We looked at the screen. A man in a gray suit calmly told us there was a major nuclear explosion sending clouds all across the Earth that would get in the air. But we were safe. Nothing should be affected, just the sky looking weird. i felt tingles, like there were bubbles underneath my skin, waiting to burst. I was used to this. It had been happening a lot lately. Probably just hormones.

2 days later

What. Was. Happening. I kept hearing people screaming. Roaring. But I couldn't focus. W-what was HAPPENING? WHY WERE MY EYES FREAKING GLOWING?! Calm down Addi. Calm down.  I took a deep breath in. I saw my eyes fade slowly back from bright yellow to my pale green. And also they stopped glowing. I crept into my room. My parents were out on a date and my sisters were at their instrument practice. I turned on my laptop and looked at the news.

2 hours later

Apparently those weird dust clouds had a special enzyme that triggered DNA in roughly 70% of Earth's population, meaning... we were all transformed, in a way. according to the news, 7,000 years ago, mythical creatures roamed the Earth. Faeries,  witches, wizards, vampires, and werewolves and all the associated creatures. Any local Walgreens or target could give you a test to figure out which DNA type you had. Though most people could figure it out.  My parents were normal. Danielle was a Kitsune. Greta was a wizard. And as for me...

I was a witch
