Everyone was now back at the Campsite just outside of Redcliffe. Arl Eamon was finally healed, and he would call a Landsmeet against Loghain. But they weren't done yet. Nefarious, the Darkspawn, and the Metal Heads were still out there. And all working together. The next part of their plans would involve going to the Brecilian Forest to recruit the Dalish Elves. Fortunately, Bodahn Feddic and Sandal were able to restock their supplies and got some new weapons and armor. Silverite. And Talia would take a new Silverite Longsword and some of the Heavy Chainmail to boot.
"Okay... anything we should know about these Elves?" Ratchet asked around the camp fire.
"Well this is where things get... interesting, Ratchet." Alistair answered. "See, the Dalish Elves are probably going to be the hardest faction we've ever had to encounter so far."
"Can't be any harder than those people at the Haven Village." Dax commented.
"You'd be surprised." Alistair replied. "The Dalish Elves aren't like the Elves you've probably encountered so far. Humans have... a reputation with Elves, you see."
"What kind of reputation?" Ratchet asked.
"Elves are considered lower class citizens compared to Humans in terms of Politics in Thedas. They had been slaves of Humans for many Centuries. That slavery is over. At least here in Ferelden, but Elves don't enjoy the same lifestyle as Humans. Many of them live in the Alienage of Cities, cut off from the rest of the world. They mainly have jobs as servants, or handmaidens, or any other type of job the humans don't want to take themselves." Talia explained.
"But what about the Dalish Elves?" Jak asked.
"I can answer that." Zevran answered stepping up to the surprise of everyone. "They are a nomadic group of Elves that seek to recover, inherit and preserve the knowledge and power of their old land. Known to have the purest of Elvish Blood. And... they despise humans. A lot." He explained. "And a lot is an understatement."
"How do you know so much of the Dalish, Zevran?" Talia asked.
"You don't know everything about me." Zevran answered.
"Can't blame them, really." Alistair sighed. "I don't know why. But I feel much more... sympathetic to the Elves than most. It's almost as if I'm... an Elf myself."
"Well, you could be Half Elf, Alistair." Talia suggested. And both looked at each other. And then they both laughed.
"Oh, that's a good one." Alistair laughed. "We already know my Mother was a Serving Girl. Could you imagine if I found out my Mother was an Elf?"
"Oh, the Nobles of Ferelden would go berserk." Talia answered. "I don't have anything against Elves. But the Landsmeet. They wouldn't be so kind."
"And what's to stop the Dalish Elves from just attacking us?" Jak asked.
"Yeah. I don't know about the rest of you guys. But I don't fancy getting torn to bits by some angry Elves." Dax said. "They'd probably tear up Alistair and Talia first if we're being honest."
"Fortunately. If we tell them we're Grey Wardens. They'll probably be more willing to cooperate with us. And unlike the rest of Ferelden, they don't listen to anything that Loghain or any of his allies will say." Talia figured.
"How are we even going to find these guys? I'm looking at the map of Ferelden here. This Brecilian Forest is huge." Ratchet pointed out.
"We'll start at the Outskirts." Talia answered. "It's a good starting point and work our way into the Forest." She figured. She tried to see what Morrigan thought of all this. But Morrigan was busy reading more of the Grimoire.
