Shade's POV

Angel was staring up at the sky like she was in a daydream, like she always did. I got up quietly and watched as my reflection shimmered into the dribbling water, listening to the splashing of the fountain as my heartbeat changed to match it. I looked down at the mirror shards on the stone; the sunlight flashed at my face and i turned away, it hurt and it sent me in a daze. My mind drifted to my sister again, i felt kind of bad. But this is for everybody's sake.

I almost jumped when something tapped me on the chest, but it was just my necklace. I stared at it for a moment, it was an amulet passed down from my mother, and matched with one that Angel had. Mine was made out of a coppery red metal that was like my eyes but duller, and it held a moonstone that was carved to look like a crescent moon, which was insanely glittery and it was so annoying. Angel's was made of a holographic silver-blue material and held a sapphire carved into a circle with a small sun shape dented onto the surface, it also shimmered like it was hung above the blazing fires of hell, and matched her eyes. I was honestly always confused about how the matched both of us when they must have been made before we were born.

You've been awfully silent.

Good morning to you too.

And it looks like it's good night for your sister.

What's with your awful voice echoing through my head and insulting my sister? Who are you?

I am you. There is nothing more to this than that.

I need more sleep don't I.

...

I internally sighed as the voice faded. I probably should stop staying up all night, it's clearly making me go crazy. But I could never get one thing off my mind...

I glanced back at angel, who still looked like she was dreaming, and shuffled away. She didn't notice my depart. I tilted my head at the sight of a nearby village, one that was oddly very close to ours for some reason. But whatever, there are bigger problems in this world than poor planning.

...And i know that's true.

I walked all the way to the other village, nobody noticed me and nobody cared, and i was glad. Until somebody actually did. "Hey you, you're that witches daughter right? The one with the sappy twin? giggle." teased a wolf, she had a beige-ish pelt that shined like gold and wore some pink flowers on her head. She looks so stupid with those. "What is with you and your friends calling my mother a witch? I've said so many times, she is NOT A WITCH, and even if she was, it's none of your business." I growled at her. I knew she wanted a reaction out of me, but oh god if she spoke one more word about my mother i would end her entire bloodline. "Looks like somebody's mad~" said the wolf. She obviously has a skull the size of a bullet ant if she thinks

she can talk to me like that. "Hmm, that doesn't seem very polite to me. If you're gonna be a lady, mustn't you have manners, dear?" I straightened myself, and she seemed to downsize herself just the smallest built as i towered over her. "I shouldn't need to, ladies don't use manners around little runts." I stared blankly down at her, then she seemed to get less confident when i don't give her what she wanted. "So? You gonna move on now since petite little pretty princesses like you don't deserve to be tortured and distressed by the mere sight of such a disgusting, bloodbathed creature like me? You afraid you're gonna get cursed and turned into a frog by a witch? hm, highness?" She scoffed at this. At least she didn't take it as flirting, my stars. "I think i will." she titled up her chin and trotted away, trying to make herself look majestic. I'm not off her tail yet.

I have an idea.

I don't think it's a good one.

...

but she will eat her words like a lady, i'll make sure of that.

Oh, yes you shall.

I flicked a small stick against the stone path i was standing on and a small wisp of flame appeared on it. Sparks started flying off as i slowly strided towards a building, one made of wood it seems...
