As Dandy turned on the power in the resident, all toons ceiling lights flickered on, the bright light surely waking up anyone who was sound asleep. Shrimpo was seemingly the first to wake up as he was screaming from his room about Dandy flash banging everyone. Slowly it seemed every toon was getting up and out of bed from the soft sound of chit chat echoing from the vents.

Shelly was already in the hallways when Dandy had turned the power on, due to the fact she couldn't sleep that well and opted to just walking around to see if that would tire her out in any way. Unfortunately it didn't help, but luckily she got dressed and stepped out right before the lights flashed on so she didn't have to nap in bright light, if she was still sleepy.

Shelly decided to check on her best friend, Tisha first, then Astro, then Vee. Shelly checked on every toon on all the floors until she finally reached Rodgers door, His room was oddly dark considering the recent event so she was a little weary opening the door. She looked around before seeing two figures, as she stared for a second she realized- it was Dandy! and he looked to be.. feeding Rodger soup? "Rodger? You okay?"

Dandy turned at the sudden sound of Shellys sweet voice, before realizing that Rodger had covered himself in the bedsheets. he was embarrassed that Shelly of all people had caught him like this.
"Rodger seems to have caught the flu during one of the runs, So im just helping him out!"

Shelly looked slightly worried, Rodger was sick? He was never sick, or if he was he toughed it out and didn't tell anyone but shelly! He trusted shelly a lot, she was someone he always told about his personal business, despite that he was still so anxious being caught so vulnerable by someone. even if it was shelly, it was still someone other than dandy and Rodger was ashamed. he should have locked that damn door.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"
Shelly asked as she slowly trotted to the side of the bed Dandy was sitting on, kneeling down on the floor and looking at Rodger blush from how hot he was feeling.
"Well, he does need someone to look after him for a while! I have to work y'know, and this big baby wont let me get anyone else to watch him."
Rodger snapped back a weak grumble about how he would NOT face another living soul in this condition, Shelly giggled slightly. Rodger was acting a-lot like Glisten when his make-up would smudge, it was laughable!

"Well, I could watch him! I'm free today and the others will be on a food run so, you could get your tapes as well!"
Shelly smiled at Dandy, her face glowing as she suggested herself as a caretaker. She always wanted to have some time alone with Rodger just to talk and catch up, they never really had time to due to the many runs they were scheduled and made to do just to survive in this wasteland, hell nobody could ever really relax. Not even to sleep.

That made this special moment with Rodger as needed as ever, Both to finally watch after the detective and to finally just be with him. after all they were a couple! though a closeted one, they were still a couple, both always greeting each other and going on runs together, they were inseparable! Rodger found it good that nobody noticed, as romance was heavily looked down upon after Astro and Dandy's last.. situation. It ruined love for most toons, placed distrust in all who were in a relationship, leading to why shelly and Vee were ex's.

But enough about that! Shelly finally snapped back into reality, only 10 seconds had passed but it felt like hours! Dandy finally sighed out a sure and handed the bowl of warm broccoli cheddar soup to Shelly, who cheerfully held it close and looked over at Rodger. Rodger at this point had sat up and was shakily holding onto a certain stuffed dog, *Toodles* stuffed dog. Shelly found it cute how Rodger sought comfort in a stuffed dog, a stuffed dog that his daughter gifted him.

Dandy got up and left, Leaving Shelly and Rodger alone to just sit, and chat about anything! After all, any toons that were in the building had already gone down an elevator by now, and Dandy was a 'Trusted' toon to not ease drop. Shelly stood up and placed a small peck on Rodgers forehead, walking to the other side of the bed and getting onto it to cuddle up next to her beloved. Rodger laid down and allowed Shelly to spoon him into a cuddle.
"A nap would make your head feel a little lighter, Hon."
Rodger groaned and pawed at her shoulder. "I'm too hungry to sleep.."
Rodger always let his inner child out around people he trusted, for example Teagan was the only one who could get Rodger to act all pouty like Shrimpo with her sly teases about his love-life. "how about.. I feed you some soup, and then you sleep?" Shelly sat up and looked at her sickly boyfriend with a sly expression. "Finee.." Rodger muttered, sitting up a little so that Shelly would have an easier time feeding him.

Once Dandy finally got back from his tape shop, he walked back over to Rodgers room. Having been the only one to know he was sick and care enough to stay, and make him his favorite soup, it was clear to see Dandy cared about Rodger a little.
as Dandy trotted towards the dorm he made sure to mentally note that it was oddly quiet down this part of the containment.

Dandy finally stopped in front of Rodgers room, quietly opening the door and peaking in, only to see shelly and rodger curled up and asleep. Shelly was lightly snoring while Rodger just sniffles every so often, Dandy chuckled at the sight of them. Always being such lovebirds while everyone else was oblivious to their obvious romance because 'Shelly likes vee!' Well. She certainly did, but at this point in time Vee has broken her heart. and she is being comforted and loved by Rodger, so they can ignore their romance for now but. soon they'll have to face it, soon Vee will have to face that shelly doesnt like her anymore, how sad.

Dandy gently closed the door, making sure it wasnt to loud before trotting away.

he'd be sure to make Rodger pay him back for this kind gesture.
