The next morning came far too quickly for Y/N, and it wasn't the most pleasant awakening. A sharp kick to her foot jolted her awake, and as she groggily opened her eyes, she found herself staring up at Bakugo's furious scowl "Get your lazy ass up and to work!" he barked, crossing his arms. His voice, loud and demanding, grated on her ears. She blinked in confusion, still half-asleep, her mind racing to catch up with the situation. Before she could even form a response, Bakugo scoffed
"While you're on my ship, you do as I say. If it's not me, it's Kirishima. Now get to scrubbing the deck outsider." he ordered before walking off, leaving Y/N stunned and alone.

She sat up, rubbing her eyes. It was only her second day here, and she was already feeling the weight of Bakugo's temper. Her gaze drifted to the mop and bucket beside her. With a sigh, she picked them up and started her task, her hands trembling slightly as she scrubbed the worn wooden boards of the deck. One by one, members of the crew began to emerge from their cabins, chatting amongst themselves, the sounds of the ship coming to life.
Y/N kept her head down, hoping to avoid any more attention. But her solitude didn't last long.

"Morning! Did you sleep alright?" A chirpy voice startled her. She looked up to see Mina, one of the friendlier crew members, bouncing over with a wide grin. The pink-skinned girl radiated energy, a stark contrast to the gruff crew around her. "Oh, morning... Yeah, I did. Did you?" Y/N responded, trying to be polite but keeping her attention mostly on the mop. The last thing she wanted was Bakugo finding her chatting and slacking off. Mina nodded, her grin never fading. "Yep! I didn't actually catch your name yesterday, though!" She extended a hand enthusiastically. "I'm Mina Ashido! Nice to meet you!" Y/N hesitated but smiled slightly, shaking her hand. "Y/N L/N. Nice to meet you too."

As the day progressed, Y/N slowly got to know the rest of the crew. Kirishima, the first mate, was the first to approach her after Mina. His easygoing nature made him approachable, and Y/N couldn't help but feel slightly more comfortable around him compared to Bakugo. "Don't sweat it too much. Bakugo's all bark," Kirishima said with a reassuring smile as he passed by while she continued cleaning. "Just keep your head down and do your work, and he won't give you too much grief." Y/N gave a short nod in response. Despite Kirishima's friendly demeanor, she still felt out of place. She was on a pirate ship, after all, surrounded by people who lived their lives in a way she couldn't understand.

She also met Denki, the ship's navigator, a blonde with a carefree attitude who seemed to love teasing everyone. "Don't worry, we're not all like Captain Grumpy over there," he joked, nudging her playfully. "Some of us actually smile." Sero, the lookout, joined in, laughing. "Just stay out of his way. And if you ever need a break, find us. We've got your back." Y/N appreciated their efforts, but her mind kept drifting back to the real reason she was here—the book.

She had found it in her father's old box of stuff from when he was a kid, thinking it was a fun, fictional story about infamous pirates. One of those tall tales people told for entertainment. She'd been intrigued by the descriptions of Bakugo's crew—their brutal exploits, the treasure they hunted, and the secrets they supposedly kept. It had all seemed too fantastical to be real. But then she'd been captured. And Bakugo, upon seeing the book in her possession, had reacted like she had just unearthed some forbidden knowledge. He seemed to think she knew more than she did—that she was hiding something. But Y/N had no idea why the book was so important to him, or why it had gotten her into so much trouble. Now, she was stuck aboard his ship, a prisoner because of something she thought was just a story.

Later in the day, Bakugo announced they were docking at a nearby village to gather supplies. The crew moved efficiently, preparing to disembark. Y/N thought she might finally get a moment of peace, but Bakugo had other plans. "You're coming with us," Bakugo growled, tossing a ragged cloak at her. "And don't even think about running. You wouldn't get far." Y/N glared at him but said nothing, pulling the cloak around her shoulders. She didn't even know where they were, let alone have any ideas about how to escape. Besides, she had no idea how serious Bakugo was about his threats, and she wasn't eager to test him.
