I was surprised to hear Laxus suggest that we should rent a house for the night. Although returning to the Honeymoon city would take a lot of time, and traveling at night is not safe, besides that, the road is difficult to pass. I also doubted that there would be any vehicles or carts available for rent at this hour.

So, like it or not, I followed Laxus's suggestion. We parted ways then, Laxus went to find the landlord while I went to buy supplies for dinner.

Walking among the food stalls that never seem to close, I thought about what I should cook tonight. I certainly don't want to eat more vegetables today, but what would it taste like if we only had meat?

Just then, I saw some small children running past me with masks in their hands. A night festival, huh?

I heard earlier that this city's festival would last for a full 24 hours. And there was news of a fireworks display.

Imagining watching fireworks light up the night sky from our rented house made my stomach tingle. It’s an activity for couples that I really hoped to experience it one day.

By the way, has Laxus found the landlord for our rental house? I’m curious about what the house will look like. Considering it's a short-term rental, it probably won't be very big. And if possible, I don't want to pay a lot just for one night.

My thoughts were wandering about various things when my shoulder bumped into someone walking in the opposite direction.

"Hey, wtf are you doing?!" yelled the person, with his drink spilled all over his clothes.

Quickly, I turned and apologized, bowing deeply, "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking straight. Let me pay for your laundry."

I realized that the victim was a man, who was silent for a moment before continuing his complaint.

"Do you know how much this suit costs, miss? It's worth more than you can count on your fingers! But..." his voice turned low and disgusting, "I might reconsider if you spend the night with me."

I shivered hearing the words that came out of his mouth. I didn’t care about politeness anymore and glared at him angrily.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! How dare you equate a woman's dignity with an object?!"

The man seemed even more challenged by my protest, "Then what are you going to do? You've soiled my expensive clothes, and you don't want to take responsibility? Pathetic."

"I already said I'd pay for the laundry, and you're asking for something inappropriate!"

The man frowned, "You dare speak like that to a wizard? It seems you need to be taught a lesson, you arrogant woman!" He cracked his knuckles.

Instinctively, I reached for my keys, only to realize that I left it at the inn.

'Damn it,' I cursed inwardly.

No key, but a whip will do.

The man grinned when he saw the whip in my hand, "Oh, I can imagine using that to punish you later. The sound it makes must be great, I can't wait to hear it."

I felt even more disgusted and scared, so when the man stepped forward, I raised my whip and lashed it at him.

Unfortunately, the man dodged it easily. Every lash I aimed at him was effortlessly avoided, which only inflated his ego seeing my futile attempts.

My anxiety grew as I felt a tightening pressure on my skin, increasing with every second. I didn’t realize when the man used his magic until these thin wires successfully wrapped themselves around my skin and body.
