I blinked my eyes open, the soft light of Emra's room filtering through the curtains.

My head pounded slightly, and my body felt heavy as if I'd been asleep for hours.

As I became more aware, I noticed the familiar scent of Emra's perfume lingering in the air, mixed with something else-cologne, distinctly masculine.

"She's awake!" Emra's voice broke through the fog in my head. I turned and saw her sitting on the edge of the bed, her eyes full of concern, and just behind her, Taehyung leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his expression unreadable but his eyes sharp as ever.

"How are you feeling?" she asked softly, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.

"I... I don't know," I mumbled, trying to sit up. My limbs felt weak, and I winced as I moved.

"Take it easy," Taehyung said, stepping forward to help prop me up with a pillow behind my back. His touch was firm, careful, and for some reason, it sent a shiver down my spine.

"You fainted," Emra explained, sitting back down.

"The doctor said it's probably because you didn't eat enough, and with all the excitement... your body couldn't handle it. We put you on some meds and let you rest."

The scenes from last night flashed in front of my eyes, emras dance, bats, Taehyung and and something behind him that I saw before passing out.

I glanced around the room, everything feeling surreal. "What about the party?"

Emra gave a small, sheepish smile. "We couldn't just send the guests home without cutting the cake. So I took care of that. But don't worry-" she paused, glancing at Taehyung, "he stayed here the whole time, waiting for you to wake up."

I turned to look at Taehyung. His intense gaze softened as he met my eyes. "I made sure you were okay. Emra took care of the guests, and I waited here."

My heart did a strange little flip, unsure if it was because of the feverish fog or the weight of his attention. "You didn't have to do that," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I wanted to," he replied simply, as if there was no question about it.

I wanted to....I wanted to
The words felt unreal from a man so unreal himself ...for a woman like me? No one even wanted to be friends with me.

"The doctor gave us clear instructions, and we just followed them. But we were worried."

"Yeah," Emra chimed in. "We got you some meds, kept you hydrated. But you need to take it easy."

I nodded, still trying to process everything. The last thing I remembered was dancing with Taehyung, spinning... and then... a reflection in the mirror.

The next day, I packed my things to leave Emra's house. As much as I didn't want to go, I had college starting tomorrow, and I couldn't miss it.
Thank God I didn't forget to pack my wattpad notebook and bra .

Emra walked me to the door, her arm linked through mine.

"Thanks for taking care of me last night. I feel bad that you had to deal with everything."

Emra smiled brightly, shaking her head. "Don't be ridiculous. You're my best friend. I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

Before I could respond, she added, "Oh, by the way, I won't be in college for the next week."

I turned to her, surprised. "Why not?"

"My dad and I... we have a funeral to attend in New Jersey. It's someone from his side of the family." Her voice dropped a little, sounding more serious.

"I didn't want to bring it up last night because of the party, but yeah, we'll be leaving tomorrow."

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything goes okay." I didn't know what else to say.

Emra shrugged lightly. "It's okay, just family stuff. But I'll miss you. You better not have too much fun without me!" She winked, trying to keep things light.

I smiled, "See ya"
And left with one last hug .
