As I felt the chains tighten around my wrists, my breath caught in my throat. Despair clawed at my chest, and for a fleeting moment, it felt like all hope was lost.

Taehyung was out if my sight, Emra's haunting gaze was fixed on me, and the darkness of the room seemed to seep into my very soul.

But deep within me, something stirred. A faint flicker of warmth, a memory, a faith that had always been there, waiting.

"God, please..." I whispered, my voice trembling. "Give me the strength to break free... to save him."

My eyes squeezed shut, the chains biting into my skin. I focused on the feeling inside-the connection to something greater, something pure. It was as if my heart was crying out, reaching for a light that Emra's darkness couldn't touch.

Suddenly, I felt it. A warmth spreading through my chest, a soft glow that began to push back the cold creeping over my skin.

The chains around my wrists
trembled, the metal creaking under pressure until, with a sudden snap, they shattered and fell to the floor.

I rose to my feet my body trembling but not from fear-from something deeper, something I couldn't explain. My gaze locked onto Emra's, who stood frozen, wide-eyed with terror.

The towering demon statue above us cast a long, menacing shadow across the room, its presence looming like an unspoken threat.

"This can't be", Emra whispered her voice trembling, her certainty crumbling before my eyes.

Without thinking, I lashed out. My hand collided with her face, the sound of the slap ringing in the still air.

She stumbled backward clutching her cheek, her gaze filled with a fury I had never seen before.

Jane and Nathaniel tried to rush in, but something-some unseen force-kept them out. We were trapped, just the two of us, inside this twisted ritual.

Emra's snarl broke the silence. She lunged at me, her fingers tangling in my hair, yanking me forward. Her grip was like iron.

With her free hand, she grabbed the sword from the ground, the blade gleaming ominously in the flickering light.

Whispering in that strange, guttural language, she dragged me toward the center of the circle, her breath hot against my neck

I kicked wildly, my feet slamming against her shins in a desperate attempt to break free.

"You think you can stop me?" she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. "You can't kill me, Tamrah. It's all... useless."

"I might not kill you," I spat through clenched teeth,

"but I'II never let you complete this ritual."

Suddenly, a strange sound filled the room-the unmistakable sound of liquid spilling across the floor.

The smell hit me next sharp and potent. My heart raced.

"What is going on?" Emra whispered, panic setting in.

"Nathaniel? Jane?" She called called out,
"Figure this out! I don'thave much time left" she barked, Nathaniel and Jane left without a question.

before either of us could react, she slammed the hilt of the sword into my head Pain exploded behind my eyes, and the room spun.

My knees buckled, and I collapsed to the floor, gasping for air. But
something inside me-something stronger than I thought possible -forced me to rise.

I blinked through the dizziness and locked onto the sword in her hand. One more strike, and it might be over.

Before I could think, before I could act, I heard it-a sound like a distant cry, then footsteps.
