As soon as they arrived at the beach, Vida and Rosa immediately ran across the soft sand towards the water, while Marta and Carlos carried the towels and bags. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a warm breeze blowing from the sea and the sounds of waves crashing on the shore. The ocean stretched out, seemingly endless, and Marta felt the calm atmosphere of the beach bringing her a sense of relaxation. It was exactly what she needed—a day spent with her children and the man her thoughts were increasingly focused on.

They found a quiet spot near the water, and Marta spread the towels on the sand. Meanwhile, Vida and Rosa bounced around, full of energy and excitement. "Carlos, come on into the water!" Vida called out, while Rosa tugged at his hand towards the sea. They had always loved the ocean, which Marta found amusing, considering neither she nor their biological father ever visited the sea or enjoyed going to the beach. Marta had started going to the beach just for the twins and had developed a certain fondness for it.

"Just a moment, princesses," Carlos laughed, "we need to put on your floaties first so you don't drown in the sea." The twins regularly took swimming lessons because Marta wanted them to know how to swim, given how much they loved spending time at the beach. She would have been embarrassed if they had to admit they couldn't swim in their twenties—she understood it was perfectly normal since some people never needed to know how to swim, but she felt that as someone living near the sea, they should know how.

Vida and Rosa stopped but continued to hop in place. "Okay, but quickly!" Rosa urged, impatiently prompting Carlos as he pulled the floaties out of the bag. Marta sat on the towel and watched them with amusement. She was glad she didn't have to be the one doing it this time. Carlos would have fun with the kids, and she could just watch and smile at how sweet the trio looked. As a redhead, she naturally couldn't tan well—she always burned. That's why she was already slathered in sunscreen and ready to hide under the umbrella to avoid looking like a tomato by evening.

"I'll help you," Marta finally said with a smile, pulling out a second pair of floaties while Carlos started inflating the first. Vida and Rosa kept spinning around him, laughing joyfully and talking about how they would dive and jump over the waves. It was adorable, and Marta couldn't help but laugh.

"Carlos, inflate it faster!" Vida laughed as she tried to watch the floaties slowly inflate.

"Don't worry, Vida, just a little longer and it'll be ready," Carlos responded calmly and with a smile, clearly enjoying their enthusiastic urging. Marta watched him and couldn't help but notice how gentle and patient he was with her daughters. Even though he was inflating the floaties, he remained fully focused on them and on making sure they felt safe.

Once the floaties were ready, Carlos carefully put them on both girls. "All set!" he declared with a smile, and Vida and Rosa immediately began jumping with joy.
