"Hey Gus Man what's the word of the day off your calender?!" Shawn yelled immediately after walking through the doorway to Psych. "What? Oh yeah it's 'Ecstatic'" Gus said, looking bored.
"I love static! I get to zap people with physics! Or chemistry! Or maths? Or whatever it is!" Shawn was yelling enthusiastically and hopped onto Gus's desk. "It's static energy Shawn. It's - oh nevermind that's not even what Ecstatic means." Gus corrected him but Shawn didn't falter, simply saying "I've heard it both ways." And then rushing to find his favourite flag he stashed somewhere in the office. Gus sighed, "No you haven't. Ecstatic is how you're feeling right now, extremely excited.", he told Shawn in a very dull tone.Shawn was ecstatic! Absolutely, fantastically ecstatic! It was pride month after all and God does Shawn love pride! Any pride! Especially when there's going to be a gigantic parade in town to celebrate it!
"Just because you're straight doesn't mean you can't go and enjoy it!" Shawn shouted to him from the kitchen. "Fine. But I have to stay away from crowds! The sweat and glitter will RUIN my beautiful head!" Gus responded rather dramatically, looking offended at the thought of his precious head getting even a speck of dust on it.
The station was more cheerful than usual although that might have just been Shawn. But unfortunately miracles were not that common so Lassiter still wore his everyday frown and grumbled from time to time.
"Hey Lassie!" Shawn yelled. Lassiter groaned, "What do you want Spencer? I'm busy.". Shawn smiled and sat on Lassiter's desk, ignoring the disgusted look the man gave him.
"Are you going to pride?" Shawn asked loudly, a hopeful tone in his voice. "No." Lassiter replied and Shawn's smile instantly disappeared. It was replaced by a sad pout and pleading eyes. "No. I'm not going now stop looking at me like that! I have work to do." Lasstiter told him sturnly so Shawn hopped off his desk and went to see Jules.
"Hey Jules!"
Juliet looked up from where she was sat at her desk, "Hey Shawn! How's your day going?".
Shawn stood next to her desk (He would only ever sit on Lassie's desk........ because its more organised he tells himself), "Great!I'm going to Pride!!".
"Oh that's lovely, When are you going?" Juliet asked.
"In an hour I think, I should go get ready actually! See you later!"
"Bye Shawn!"
When Shawn left Carlton turned to talk to Juliet. "O'Hara. How large is this parade?" He asked. Juliet was about to answer but she stopped to look at Carlton, confused.
"Why? Oh are you going?" Juliet asked innocently but Carlton frowned even deeper than normal.
"No." He said bluntly and Juliet decided it was better to not ask anymore questions. "Well it will be all over town so a few hundred people will go atleast and lots of people from neighbouring towns aswell so really it will be quite packed and spread out." She told him. Carlton just nodded and thanked her for the information then went back to his work with a more thoughtful frown on his face. You see Carlton was not homophobic he just didn't want his coworkers to know he also liked men. And that's normal right? Yeah totally normal. He simply thought it was unprofessional to share that information in the work place. And the only reason he said he was not going to the pride march was because he knew if he said yes then that would be another long conversation about personal lives with O'Hara. Not at all because he was maybe just a little bit scared what people would say.
After his conversation with Jules, Shawn rushed back home to get ready for pride. He dressed in his good pair of jeans, a bisexual flag crop top with lots of jewellery and rainbow makeup and a bisexual colour cap. He grabbed his bag and stuffed water bottles and soda and snacks in with a bunch of flags and pins aswell. He was all set.
