Early Life and Background
Tolani Addison Adetoye was born on April 23, 2001, in Essex, England, as the second of four daughters to Dare and Chisimdi Adetoye (Interethnic marriage). The Adetoye family was well-regarded in business circles, with her father, Dare, owning a successful chain of restaurants and hotels, and her mother, Chisomdi, running a reputable law firm. Tolani's upbringing in a well-off household afforded her numerous opportunities from a young age.
When Tolani was just three years old, her family relocated to Manchester, a move that would shape much of her formative years. In Manchester, she became close friends with Marcus and Emma Rashford, forming bonds that would last throughout her childhood and adolescence. She spent the next 14 years of her life in Manchester, absorbing the city's vibrant culture before eventually moving to Los Angeles for university.
Career BeginningsAt the age of 16, Tolani launched her first Instagram account, where she shared snapshots of her lifestyle, fashion choices, and GRWM (Get Ready With Me) content. Her unique style and engaging posts quickly gained attention, causing her page to go viral. This early success on social media marked the beginning of her career as an influencer and content creator.
The pivotal moment in Tolani's journey came when she moved to Los Angeles for university. The relocation not only provided her with a new environment but also opened doors to collaborate with larger creators, models, and a broader audience. Her influence expanded rapidly, making her a recognizable figure in the world of social media.
