ADETOLA'S POV

I didn't expect it to go this far, if I'm being honest. But you know how life is...one minute, you're standing in the corner of a private party with your bestie, sipping on overpriced cocktails and exchanging side comments, and the next, you're laughing so hard at a joke Fireboy told that you can barely catch your breath. It all started so casually no expectations, just vibes, but somehow, Adedamola worked his way into my everyday thoughts, and now I can't stop smiling whenever I think about him.

After that night with Wiz at the party Tolani invited me to, we started talking more... well, a lot more. A few Instagram DMs turned into late-night phone calls, and those phone calls turned into spontaneous dates. Damola has a way of making every moment feel special, whether we're chilling at a low-key spot or he's spoiling me with surprise gifts. Just last week, he sent me a custom pair of sneakers, and I don't even know how he knew my size.

I smiled, recalling our last date. We had gone to this cozy, hidden-away jazz lounge where no one recognized him. The music was soft, the lighting dim, and the air filled with the faint scent of wine and something sweet. I could still feel the weight of his arm around my waist, the way his thumb traced small circles on my side as we listened to the music. It wasn't just about the physical—though, let's be honest, he was damn good at that part too. But there was more to it.

I hadn't expected to find comfort in someone like him. Celebrities came with baggage. I had seen it firsthand with Tolani and Rema, the way fame could complicate even the most straightforward things. But somehow, Damola made it feel easy, natural even.

As I thought about him, my phone buzzed on the table. I didn't have to check the screen to know who it was. The way my heart did a little flip gave him away every time.

"Wetin you dey do, beautiful?"

I chuckled at the message. He loved calling me that—"beautiful"—like it was my name. I typed back quickly, teasing.

"Abi you no fit give person space again? I dey breathe o."

Not even a minute passed before my phone rang, his name lighting up the screen. I answered, already smiling.

"Adetola, I don dey miss you already," his voice was smooth, warm, and had a way of making everything else in the world feel far away. "Oya, stop jare. We just see last night," I said, but my heart was racing a little. His voice always did that to me. "Wetin you wan talk?" "Why you dey form?" He laughed, that deep, rich sound that sent a shiver down my spine. "I fit come carry you?"

I pretended to think about it, but the truth was, I had been hoping he'd say something like that. Spending more time with him was something I found myself looking forward to, even if it was just hanging out at his place or taking a late-night drive. "Okay o," I finally said, trying to sound nonchalant, "make we see. I go dress small." "Small ke? You know you always fine, no stress. I dey your gate in 10."

He hung up before I could respond, leaving me with butterflies in my stomach. I hurried inside to change into something casual but cute. Tolani wasn't home, so I had the place to myself. I grabbed my purse and slipped on my sneakers, my heart beating a little faster at the thought of seeing him.

Before I knew it, we were at his place. It wasn't my first time there, but every time I walked into his house, it felt like stepping into another world. The quiet, the calm... it was such a contrast from the busy life he led.

We had just finished watching some movie on Netflix, and somehow, we'd ended up closer than we started. His arm was draped over my shoulders, my head resting on his chest. I could feel his heart beating steadily beneath me. It was comforting, being wrapped in his warmth like that.
