The steel door creaked open letting in a sliver of dim light from the hallway into the dark abyss room. Footsteps and a shadow made their way into the room until the cling of a lightbulb killed the darkness of the room.
"Wake up filthy rats." beckoned Janis Flores as she stands over the five girls with a bucket of cold water in one hand and a small damp towel in the other.
Mira sits up from the pile of her friends that she rested on, shielding her eyes from the burning light. She can barely feel any strength or remember the last time the sun had touched her skin. Her other four friends eventually unraveled themselves form their self-made pile and sat up. Janis finally dropped the bucket and towel on the floor and made her way out of the room just as another set of feet come into the room.
The feet belonged to a 5'10, soulless brown eyed man and with a quick swift hand he lifted up the closest girl by her hair, Lynn, who hissed at the pain and quickly stood on her feet, nearly her tippy toes. Mira couldn't believe that her college classmates, Janis and Dave Flores were heartless kidnappers. Mira never really had anyone throughout her whole life, her and her parents were involved in a car crash when she was young, she was the only survivor. After that, she always kept to herself, until high school when a rebellious Lynn befriended her and they've been stuck together ever since- even in kidnappings. She couldn't believe this happened right as Mira's orphanage allowed her to continue her education at Boston College, dammit.
"Don't fucking touch me asshole." Lynn spews in Dave's face, trying to wiggle herself out of his grasp. One of the reasons why Lynn sought out friendship in Mira was because she knew Mira was hurting just as much as Lynn was. When Lynn was in high school, right before she met Mira, her twin brother ran away from home and weeks after- her parents were killed in a home robbery, no one ever found out who did it. Luckily her old time friend Jasmine Jones and her aunt Norma adopted her so she wouldn't go into the foster system.
"I see my cousin roughed you guys up." Dave snickered as he scanned the rest of the girls with an eager look. Dave reached his hand down towards Lynn's ass and before he knew it a hard kick to his groin knocked him down to the floor. He yelled in pain while Lynn backed up into the rest of her friends.
"I said not to fucking touch me, dick." Lynn screamed at him. And with fury Dave quickly shot up and grabbed her by the air, dragging her away.
All of the girls cried and protested for him not to take her away.
"Shut up or I'll shoot all of you dead right now!" Dave yelled as he pulled out his pistol from the back of his pants.
"Why are you doing this to us, please, what did we do?!" Claire Pierce sobbed trying to reason with this lunatic.
"It don't really matter right now, but you'll know why soon... as for now, I'm going to have a little fun with Lynn here." Dave said just as he pushed Lynn right out of the room and shut the door after the girls ran to the doorframe trying to pry the handle open.
An hour goes by, and finally the steel door opens again and in falls Lynn, bruised and cut.
Jasmine ran to her, she was always the protector of the group and always fairly strong. Jasmine was 5'6 and had the biggest dark brown curls and softest brown skin that was now covered in the room's dust. She rested Lynn's head on her knees, "Lynn, wake up- please, what- what happened to you? What did he do?" she pleaded. She didn't respond.
