-6 weeks later-

Mira's POV

It's been six weeks since I've left the Disciples. I call every night with my girls, but I haven't returned yet. They miss me, and I miss them and I honestly don't know what's holding me back anymore. I've been mentally preparing myself this whole time to come back and face... everyone. Am I scared of something? What is it? I know I've been selfish- to run away. But I'm not strong like everyone else.

No Viper has found me yet, I've been wearing ugly disguises every time I go out and it's always difficult explaining that to Parker. I've been blaming the latest trends and so far he believes me, but at least he gives me the space I need. I've grown a lot closer to Parker- he's practically one of my closest friends now. I enrolled back into online medical school, I'm grateful Parker was able to give me that push. It's been hard, but he helps me study and-

"What are you writing in your diary?" Parker asks as he sits beside me on the couch.

I sit up from laying down and respond, "It's a journal, not a diary." putting down my pen and closing my grey little notebook.

"Isn't that the same thing? What's the difference?" He asks, opening a can of soda.

"Well the main difference is diaries is for kids while journaling is for adults." I say opening the second can of soda and bringing it to my lips.

"So you basically just pretend to be mature" Parker asks laughing at his own joke.

I slightly shove his arm in retaliation, he loses his balance as he tries to make sure he doesn't spill any soda.

"Jerk." He says pouting and moving an inch away from me as a safety precaution.

I sarcastically roll my eyes as I turn the TV on. Tonight was movie night, where we did no work, no studying, and no school. Tonight was my turn to pick a movie- well I regularly picked TV shows. As I scroll down the Netflix watch list I click on The Vampire Diaries.

"The Vampire Diaries again Mira? Come on, be different." Parker groans.

"Uhm excuse you, this is a masterpiece of fiction. Besides I want to see how they try to kill Elena in this episode." I say laying down on my side again.

"Liar, you're just in it for that Damon guy."

"Him too..."

"Whatever, Stefan's better, but she doesn't deserve him. Anyways, usual Chinese order?" Parker asks as he dials the Chinese restaurant from down the street.

I nod at him as he speaks into the phone and a couple of seconds later he hangs up, setting his phone down and laying oh his side of the couch.

I hear rustling outside the window, but hoping it's nothing and mostly because I'm lazy, I ignore it and turn my attention to the screen again.

5 minutes later the bell rings, I glance at Parker with a confused face, surprised that the Chinese food came so quickly.

"That was fast." Parker says as he gets up and grabs his wallet, heading for the door and turning the handle.

As soon as the door cracked open, it was kicked in. A group of 5 people in black military-like rush in with guns as they storm the place. Parker falls backwards on the floor and I instinctively take cover behind the couch. Before I knew it one of the soldiers sprinted towards me as he tackled me on the ground before I had a chance to run away. My face planted against the cold wooden floor, I glance up to Parker.

"MIRA!" Parker yells from the entrance, he quickly stands on his feet and starts moving towards but before he could reach me, two soldiers punched him and kicked him down, holding him on the ground.
