"Vince c'mon. It'll only be a 5 minute drive, you don't have to drop me off either. Can't you just do this for me please?" I plead, begging my brother who was sitting comfortably on the sofa.

Vince was my older brother, whose real name is Vincent but I called him Vince for short. We call each other by our shortened names because we thought it was weird calling each other by our actual names.

He called me Val but if I somehow pissed him off, that's when our actual names start being used.

He was annoying but also academically driven, something I lack in. I'm decent at school but I can't lie and pretend I'm the best like him. I would often ask him to tutor me and give me notes in order to improve on certain areas that I need help in.

And although my brother can irritate me sometimes, he was still a good sibling to me until this day.

"Just take my car, I'm waiting for a friend right now." He groans, avoiding eye contact with me while his eyes focused on the tv in front of him.

To be honest, I wasn't confident in my driving skills. I'm decent but I'm still afraid to drive in highways or bridges or the streets where it's really lively and crowded.

And where I was going was lively and crowded, meaning I had to prioritize safety and ask my brother in case I accidentally kill myself or another person.

"Is it a girl?" I nudge, winking a little before Vince finally looks up and scoffs.

"If I was going to bring a girl, it would be in secret."

Our parents weren't really fond of the idea of us dating right away, they still saw us as their little babies they cradled in their arms.

And if we were to date, it would be a long deliberation of back and forth questions to see if they were qualified to be our "partner." It was something I dreaded so I tried to avoid romantic interactions with anyone.

"Yeah, okay. Whatever, is it Isaac then?" I ask, rolling my eyes slightly. I had a feeling it was going to be him but because Vince had recently gotten out of a long term relationship, he's been down in the sewers and I felt bad.

I mean.. he got cheated on! I was so pissed off at the girl because first off, she's clearly brain dead to be cheating on my brother who was smart, funny, and kind. He treated her so sweetly and gave her his attention just for her to run off with someone else.

It was difficult not to run after her but I stayed composed.

"Yup." He says casually, resuming his gaze back to Friends.

I watch him silently, begging him with my eyes to show him that I really didn't want to drive myself this time.

When he finally takes the hint and looks at me with a disgusted look on his face, he sighs.

"Why are you still scared? You literally have a license, you're gonna have to do it at one point." He tells me while beginning to get up.

I started to grin excitedly while he looks at me with a annoyed expression on my face when I completely ignored what he said.

"And right now is not that point. Look, I'll get over my fears eventually. I just need more practice but with you hogging the car and dad begging to drive me to school. I barely have time to drive myself." I explain in which Vince slightly raises his eyebrows, as if I made a pretty good point.
