I woke up with my head pounding, despite being closed off in my tent the sun still seeped through the fabric and woke me up. I squinted, pulling the blanket over my head before I hear chatter outside.

Realizing where I was again, I force myself up and slightly open the zipper to see what they were doing.

Vince was making food on the grill while Lydia and Violet were talking on the benches. Seeing Lydia again made me remember what Isaac had said last night which caused my stomach to turn.

Lydia and I have been friends since middle school, I went up to her one day noticing she was crying in the back of the building and offered to comfort her and be her friend. Apparently she was getting bullied at the time and had no one to talk to so I happily lent out my hand for her.

When high school rolled around, we were still friends but I guess you could say it didn't feel the same before. She started doing makeup, dressing up, talking to boys and making other friends which I didn't mind. She was finding herself and I was happy for her, it takes dedication to do that.

I did notice that she gets passive aggressive sometimes or subtly makes fun of me which I thought were just all friendly banter between a friend group but when I noticed that it started to offend me. I didn't know what to think.

I always shake it off because she was my friend and I knew she meant nothing more than to make me laugh yet I still feels doubts wondering if I made a mistake being her friend till this day.

I rub my eyes roughly before stepping out the tent, my friends eyes on me when they notice me awake. Violet was the first one to smile and greet me while Lydia waved.

"Sit," Violet says, patting the seat across from them while I nod.

I take my phone out and notice my bed hair, internally crying.

My head still felt like it was pounding and being outside was the first time I felt the need to go back inside my tent and curl up. I made sure I properly dried myself and changed into new clothes as well as stay by the fire all night before sleeping but it could be a possibility that I might have caught something after falling in the water.

"Valentine I have an update for you on Isaac." Lydia says and I hum as a response, too tired to even speak.

"So you know how we played games yesterday right?" She asks while I nod, Violet paying attention to the story as if she was hearing it for the first time.

"He went to the car to pick something up so I thought it was the perfect chance to I don't know.. makeout." Lydia whispers the last words and began to blush to herself.

All while my heart was pounding and I felt my stomach sinking to the bottom of the very ocean.

Violet seemed to have no interest but stayed listening.

"Anyway, I followed him and when he saw me. Oh. My. Goodness. He definitely fell in love. I had my jacket a little bit zipped down and I swear his eyes were anywhere but my face." Lydia continues, grinning widely while turning to look at Isaac's tent which was the farthest away from us all.

I turned to look at his tent too, noticing he hasn't woken up yet. I exhale softly before looking back at Lydia again for her to continue.
