Working at one of the most popular hospitals in Los Angeles, Havana Adler worked her life as a doctor, specifically a neurologist. Graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing, and she has her master's degree in medicine.

All her life, everything she focused on is her school, and to pursue her dream as a doctor. Her mother wanted her to be a lawyer, Havana always chose to follow her heart, and do what she wanted to do. Even though it cost her her family.

She got too focused on her career that sometimes she didn't notice that the family she made for herself has been slipping right from under her.

Her Ex-Husband Jeremy Hart found this was a good enough reason on why they needed to separate. Jeremy and Havana haven't been the same after Mason -their second child- was born.

They knew for themselves that from that moment, they were no longer the married couple they wpused to be. They were just two people living under the same roof. After that, they made an arrangement to divorce and co-parent both of their kids.

And even though Jeremy and Havana ended on good terms, and understanding each other, the kids blamed Havana for it. Even she blames herself for it.

"May? Can I come in?" Havana knocked on her door. No answer. "May?" Still no answer.

Until the door opened a few seconds later.

"What?" May asked, her voice having some irritation but still trying to be respectful.

"Mason told me that your teacher has been asking for me. Why didn't you tell me?"

"It's not like you would have the time to go anyways."

"Well, I- I'd like to try." Havana's voice was soft and calm, making May go soft on her a little.

"Tomorrow...If you can."

"Tomorrow it is." Havana forced a smile and May forced herself to return one.

Havana reached for a hug and May opened her arms to allow her, though it was kind of awkward.

"Goodnight May." She said before she turned to leave.

May blames her mother for the separation of their marriage, but at the same time she realizes that what Havana does is for them and that she's still her mother, a woman who spent half of her life trying to keep them alive and healthy, the least she could do is give the respect she deserves.

Havana wore a simple white buttoned blouse and her light wash skinny jeans that shoeed her figure. It was the only thing she could find in her closet since she hadn't done her laundry yet, but she definitely will as soon as she gets home.

She decided whether she should let her hair down, or tie it into a ponytail like she's always done. But this time, she decided to let it out for some reason. She fluffed it out just a bit and put on some lipstick.

She grabbed her bag and keys and then drove May and Mason to the school. It was a silent car ride and the three of them barely talked. May stayed glued to her phone the whole ride, and Mason was in the backseat playing a game on his phone with his headphones on, until Havana decided to start a conversation.

"I've never met this teacher. Is she nice?" Havana asked May, keeping focus on the road.

"My teacher is a he, I've told you that before." May said with a cold tone.

"Oh...Well..." Havana went silent. "Well, is he nice?"

"Very." May said vaguely, Havana was used to her vague response at this point.
