We pulled into Niall's driveway slowly, the gravel crunching beneath the tires. The excitement and nervousness inside me nearly doubled as Harry got out and opened my door for me. I unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped down from the seat and onto the ground. "We're not staying long. Zayn's here." I looked to my left and spotted his black car parked near the large oak tree in Niall's yard. I made a face and Harry chuckled. Zayn and I used to have "a thing" if you know what I mean. We fell apart after a few months and since then I hadn't spoken to him. "Why is he here?" I asked. "He's gonna watch the house while we go perform downtown. We better hurry and get in there before Niall gets completely shitfaced," his words were all smashed together as he spoke. He took my hand and I happily followed him into the house. The walls practically shook from the bass coursing through the speakers, the words to Make it Nasty by Tyga were barely audible. "You go find Liam and Louis and I'll find Niall and pry his cup from his hands," Harry yelled to me over the music. I nodded and we split up. I wandered through the large house, carefully stepping over passed out partygoers that littered the living room. I sidestepped a couple making out against a wall and turned down a hallway. I spotted a rather large guy at the end of the hallway chatting with a blonde clad in very revealing clothing. She had a beautiful figure but appeared self conscious as she crossed her arms over her stomach. Or maybe she was trying to push her boobs up further I dunno. I walked a little closer and saw that it was Liam. I happily walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, Li." I said happily. The music faded a bit since I was in the hall so I didn't have to yell. The girls face fell as Liam turned to face me. "Hey Tamsin." He replied smiling. "Who's she?" The blonde girl spat. Liam chuckled. "She's just a friend, Courtney." He brushed her off. "Harry sent me to come find you and Louis so we can get going." I explained. Courtney took a step toward me and shoved her index finger against my chest. "I don't like you." she slurred. I laughed loudly. "I don't care." I replied gripping her wrist and shoving her backward. Liam walked to stand on my right side as Courtney stumbled back into the wall. She growled and lunged and me and I simply stuck my foot in her way. She tripped and crashed face-first into the linoleum tile of Niall's hall. I laughed again and turned to leave, stepping directly on Courtney's back between her shoulder blades as Liam and I trotted off to locate Louis. "That was hilarious," Liam laughed as we recrossed the living room and turned down another hallway. We passed a few closed doors and one open one on the left side of the hall. I glanced in and saw Louis sitting cross legged on a large bed. Some guy lay passed out beside him. I knocked on the doorframe to get his attention. "Lou?" I said quietly. He looked over at me and gave me a quick smile before standing up and walking toward me. He gave me a tight hug and a quick kiss on the top of my head. "Hey there, little lady." He chirped. He bumped his fist against Liam's and smiled down at me again. "Harry say it's time to go?" He asked. "Yes sir," Liam and I said in unison. Liam peered into the room that Louis had come out of. "Uh, Loui-" he started. Louis glanced back into the room and shook his head. "Please don't ask," he blushed and walked ahead of Liam and I. I looked at Liam and raised my eyebrows and he held his hands up. We rounded the corner back into Niall's extravagant living room to see Harry and Niall arguing about something; Harry with an amused smile plastered on his face and Niall with a very confused expression. As we got closer I could begin make out what they were saying. "Niall, we have a concert to perform at tonight, buddy. We gotta go," Harry explained soothingly. "But this is my house. Why would I want to leave my house?" Niall replied. "Because bud, we can't fit all the fans in here," came Harry's answer. Understanding lit up Niall's face just then and he said, "Oh! I get it! Well let's go then." He bent down and sat his plastic red cup right there on the floor before walking right out the front door. I was laughing so hard by this point that tears streamed down both my cheeks. The boys shook their heads lovingly at their drunk friend and followed him out the door. I was close behind them until I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Hey beautiful. I missed you." I'd recognize that nearly gibberish sounding accent anywhere. "Get your hands off me, Zayn," I spat jerking my shoulder free of his grip. "What's wrong beb, you don't wanna talk to me?" he sounded genuinely hurt. "Obvi not," I laughed bitterly. Harry called for me from the doorway then. "Goodbye Zayn," I muttered quietly and jogged out the door. Harry stopped me before I got into the car. "Hey," he started gently, "what was all that about?" "He grabbed me on the way out. Nothing drastic happened. It's okay, honey," I replied soothingly rubbing his chest as I took a step forward. Harry's expression didn't lighten up like I had expected it to. "Whats wrong, baby?" I asked as I snaked my arms around his waist. He shook his head slowly. "Baby you can tell me," I tried again. "I feel kind of threatened by him if I'm honest," he spoke quietly. "Aww, my little hazelnut," I held him tighter and rested my head against his chest. "You have nothing to worry about. Guess what you silly goose head," I looked up at him as I spoke and our eyes met. I motioned for him to crouch down so my mouth could reach his ear. "We're engaged!" I whispered excitedly. He pulled back with that beautiful goofy grin on his face. "That we are, little one," he replied kissing me softly. He took my hand again and opened the back door to Liam's car. Liam drove and Niall rode shotgun while Harry, Louis, and I sat in the back. As we pulled away from Niall's house I glanced out the window and felt a pang in my heart. Zayn Malik stood in the front yard looking helpless wearing the shirt I'd gotten for him a week before we ended. "I just wish he'd leave me alone..." I muttered. "What was that, baby cakes?" Harry asked squeezing my side. I faked a quick smile and said, "Just talking to myself, my fuzzy little man peach. I'm okay." He smiled and kissed my forehead and rejoined whatever conversation he was previously having with Niall. Guilt and sadness took over me within seconds. I rested my head on Harry's shoulder and hoped that these feelings would just go away as I watched the word soar by me out of Liam's tinted windows.
