I gently push down the pedal to make the pottery wheel start spinning. I have to tighten my grip on Caitlyn's hands and gently cup them. Together we start to make the form for the cup. By now my front is pressed against her back and I have her kind of sitting in between my legs. I'd be lying if I say that her hands in mine don't feel good. Her hands are so soft and she smells so good..

After a few minutes the form of the cup is done, so I pull away from Caitlyn again, while she pulls her hands away from the clay as well. "This looks amazing!" Caitlyn says excitedly, which makes me smile a little. "Yeah, pretty good for you first thing." I comment. "Well..it was mostly you." She mutters but I just shoot her a glare at that. She rolls her eyes but smiles to herself. "So..wanna start on the sculpture?" I ask as I grab my chair and pull it over to the table. I sit down and then spin around to face her. "Sure." Caitlyn answers and then scoots over next to me with her chair.

"Wanna start the base of the head and neck together and then we'll start on our individual side?" I suggest and she nods immediately. "You're really a pro at this, huh?" Caitlyn asks, almost teasingly, which makes me chuckle. "Pretty much, yeah." I reply as I get up to grab a big chunk of clay. "So..what else do you like to do besides this?" She suddenly asks, catching me by surprise. Does she..actually want to get to know me? I shrug. "Uh..I play a few instruments and like to sing. Besides that just boring stuff like reading and drawing." I answer as I sit down on my chair again. Her eyes widen a little at that. "What kind of instruments?" Caitlyn asks shyly, making me smile a little. "Well..I mainly play guitar or e-guitar and piano. But I'm also pretty okay at playing drums and bass guitar." I answer casually and then start to form a head and neck out of the clay. Caitlyn joins me pretty quickly too.

"So..what do you like to do?" I ask, trying to keep up the conversation. A shy smile appears on her face. "Uh..besides being in the planning committee I also like cooking and baking. I used to dance ballet when I was younger but stopped two years ago." Caitlyn answers while we from the face together. Our hands accidentally brush against each others for a second, making us both turn a little red. "Yeah, Gina mentioned you're baking and cooking for her birthday." I respond while glancing to her. She looks at me as well and our eyes lock for a second. "Gina said you'd be open to help? So if you want you can come over to my place for a weekend and help?" Caitlyn suggests with a shy smile. I can't hold back another small smile as well. "Sure."

"But ballet, huh? Why did you stop?" I ask curiously. She lets out a sigh at that. "Well..school started to become more serious and difficult, so I decided to stop until I graduated." Caitlyn answer with a sad smile. You can definitely tell that she's bummed about having to stop dancing. "My mom used to be a professional ballet dancer, actually. I watched every single performance of hers. So I know how hard it must've been to just stop." I tell her softly. I haven't talked about my mom to other people than my dad or Ben in years..

"Why isn't she a dancer anymore?" Her question makes my heart sink. I look down at my hands at that. "She um..she died four years ago." I mumble quietly, slowly looking back up to her. "I-I'm so sorry, Alexandra. I didn't know.." I shoot her a smile. "It's okay, you couldn't have known." I reassure her and her eyes soften at that. After that we just continue in silence for a while.

After around two hours of working we decided to stop for today. We finished the face shapes of our sculpture and the neck. Next week we can start on the facial features. Caitlyn and I actually kind of got along. We even continued chatting after I told her about my mom and she was really sweet and kind.

"So..I'll see you next week?" I say as I open the front door for her. Caitlyn walks out but stops and turns around to look at me. "Um..actually, I don't know how I'll get home. Gina drove me over earlier." she mutters shyly, which makes me chuckle a little. "Well..we're eating dinner soon, so..you could stay and I can drive you home afterwards?" I suggest, not being able to look away from her. A shy smile appears on her face. "Sounds good. But you're sure your family is okay with that?" Caitlyn asks kind of nervously, which makes me smile a little. "Definitely." So we go back inside and just then dad calls us for dinner. "Is it okay if Caitlyn stays for dinner?" I ask him as we make our way over to the dinner table.

A smile appears on his face. "Sure." He answers and then walks back into the kitchen. "Mija, can you help me carry the food to the table?" I glance over to Caitlyn but she just gives me a small nod before sitting down at the table. Just then Ben comes rushing downstairs but stops when he sees Caitlyn at our table. He looks at me surprised but then a big grin appears on his face. Oh god..
So I make my way into the kitchen to help dad, hoping Ben won't embarrass me in front of Caitlyn.

"So..it's been a while since you brought a friend over." Dad comments quietly when I'm right next to him. His words make me blush. "She's not my friend. We're just doing an art project together.." I mutter embarrassedly but he just snorts a that. "Yeah, sure. I saw you downstairs, working on a cup together. You looked like you enjoyed yourselves." My eyes widen at his words. Did he see us being all close together? "That wasn't what it looked like! I just helped her out." I whisper yell in response but again, he just chuckle. "Suuuuree." I roll my eyes before bringing some of the food to the table. Tonight we're eating tacos and burritos, god they smell so good!
