ALEXANDER was gloomy right after his "ex-girlfriend" left. Juris was so sure he just side-eyed where she was hiding at the moment. Lumingon ito saka tumalungko. He cocked his head to the right and alas, stared directly at her eyes. Nagtagisan sila nang tingin, hindi siya nagpatalo. Tinaasan pa niya ito ng kilay.
"Didn't know the class valedictorian likes to snoop around?" Naglakad si Alexander palapit sa bleachers, nagpalinga-linga, hinahanap marahil ang daan papasok sa secret hideout niya.
He saw the mini gate on the right side end and went straight there. Gumapang siya, inunahan ito na mabuksan 'yon. Sinipa niya ang gate, hinarang ang paa para hindi ito makapasok.
"No ID, no entry," sabi niya rito. Itinaas lang nito ang ID na naka-clip sa front pocket ng uniform nito. Tinaasan niya ito ng kilay.
"Open sesame?" Tinaasan din siya nito ng kilay. "Abracadabra?"
"You're not allowed to enter here," sabi niya rito.
"You're not allowed to enter here. Just open the gate, Juris. I know you have a lot of questions."
Well, that's true. Naiintriga siya. Inalis niya ang pagkakaharang sa pinto saka gumapang muli pabalik sa pwesto niya kanina. Napangiwi ang lalaki, hindi malaman kung paano papasok do'n dahil sa tangkad nito. He had no choice but to crouch and crawl like she did. Sumalampak ito ng upo sa tabi niya.
"Chismosa ka ba?" he said to her then nudged her shoulder a bit.
"Hell, yeah. The chismis fell right into my trap," she smiled smugly at him.
"I didn't know you're interested in me like that." Humalukipkip ito. Ito naman ang binangga niya sa balikat.
"Kapal mo. Tahimik lang akong nagtatago dito, kayo ang gumagawa ng eksenang para sa drama dyan."
He heaved a deep sigh. "Wala ka bang itatanong?"
"I don't know. I like jumping into conclusions. Ikaw, wala ka bang itatanong?"
"What can I do to keep your mouth shut?"
Sinilip niya ito sa gilid, pinaningkitan ng mata. "Just so you know, hindi mo ko mababayaran."
Ginaya siya nito at pinaningkitan din ng mata. Parang naging linya na lang ang mga 'yon sa singkit nito. "Alam ko. Ano namang gagawin mo sa pera ko eh ang yaman-yaman niyo?"
"Exactly. Ibang bayad ang gusto ko." Nagtakip ito ng sarili kaya hinampas niya ito sa braso. "Bastos ka!"
Natatawa lang ito. "Ay ano ba? Akala ko katawan ko bayad?" Inayos nito ang uniform. "So ano nang bayad gusto mo?"
"Entertain me," agad niyang binawi ang sinabi dahil mukhang tatawa na naman ito. She rolled her eyes at him. "God, I mean I'm interested in that contract. Magbabayad ako."
"You're so unpredictable, Juris. You don't know what you're getting into."
Napatakip siya ng bibig, umaktong gulat. Nagpaka-OA. "Don't tell me sex—"
Tinakpan nito ng palad ang bibig niya. "I don't do stuff like that. Wala 'yon sa kontrata, wala akong ganyang serbisyo. Alam kong," nag-flex pa ito ng muscles which she gagged at. "Sexy ako pero hindi ako nagpapabayad ng katawan ko."
"Yuck, umayos ka nga." Sapilitan niya pang binaba ang mga braso nito. "Ano bang ginagawa mo? Anong pinababayaran mo?" She trailed off, cutting her speech before asking the most important question. "Saka bakit?" She looked at his eyes, trying to find an emotion to explain it but he's void of it.
Alexander was her classmate in Mondstville International School, the most prestigious IS in the city. His family was loaded for sure. Aanhin nito ang pera?
"Pwede bang next question na lang?" he tried to laugh it off. She's not the one to pry but...
"Alam ba ng mga "ex-girlfriend" mo 'yan? Or you've been changing girlfriends like shirts because they are all just a contract?"
He blinked twice. "The latter."
Tumango-tango siya. "You're called a casanova for this, are you aware?"
He shrugged. "I don't really care."
Well, she didn't really care either. Hindi naman na niya dapat pang pilitin itong pagpaliwanagin tungkol sa mga choices nito sa buhay. "Alam ba ng Mondstville?"
"Of course not. That's why I'm talking to you. I want you shut about this, Juris. I don't want the school knowing anything about this."
Hmm. "Then give me the contract, I'll pay you then I'll sign it. Provide me the service I paid for and I will keep my mouth shut like I'm never here."
Kunot na kunot ang noo nito. "Why are you doing this?"
"I prefer not answering that question. Hindi mo nga rin ako sinagot kanina so quits." Nagsimula na siyang gumapang palabas do'n.
"Hey, Juris, wait!"
Binilisan niya ang paglabas. Nagpagpag siya ng PE jogging pants bago ito nilingon muli. "Send me the contract before our first class tomorrow or your little secret will reach the Mondstville school admin. Malapit na ang graduation, Alexander The Great. You don't want a possibility of suspension right before college, right?" Pabagsak niyang sinara ang gate dito. "I'll message you my email. I'll be waiting, okay?"
Alexander gritted through his teeth. "You little devil."
Juris just stuck her tongue out to him. She held her hands on her back and skipped her way out of the gymnasium with the biggest smile on her face.
