Juris sent that message to him right on the dot. One hour before their first class. Nakangiti siyang nangalumbaba habang nakatanaw sa daan papasok sa school. Sigurado siyang nasa biyahe na rin ang binata. Wala pa rin itong sinesend sa kanya mula pa kagabi.
She refreshed her email and smirked when she finally got a reply.

Tinaasan niya ng kilay ang reply nito. Nagtipa siya ng sagot do'n.
Hmm, it depends. Either sa class or sa dean's office. Where do you like ba? ;)
She hit send and refreshed like a hundred times. Pero ang bagal nitong mag-reply. Sinimangutan niya ang phone na parang ito ang kaharap niya. What's the merit of doing this? Sa kanya, marami. Dito, wala. Mas maraming problema kung hindi ito papayag sa gusto niya na normally naman ay ginagawa na rin nito so why not do it with her? And she just told him to send her the contract, babasahin niya rin 'yon. If she doesn't like it, then she'll not sign. As simple as that. Pero syempre hindi niya sasabihin 'yon kay Alexander dahil baka i-edit nito 'yon para siya na ang umayaw nang kusa.
She wanted the thrill and drama. Gano'n siya ka-bored. Alexander never piqued her interest. Para sa kanya ay maharot lang itong classmate niya. Well, fine. He's a decent student. Uhm, sige performer at academic achiever. She always wondered how he did it. Juggling acads, extra curricular activities, and more extra curricular activities (example given, pakikipag-fling kung kani-kanino).
Turns out, it was juggling between acads, extra curricular activities, and business. Do'n siya interesado. He didn't need to answer her questions. She wanted to experience it firsthand to find the answers herself. Human actions won't lie. She would figure him out as fast as a snap. She had a lot of time in her hands.
Juris refreshed her email again but to no avail. She pouted. She's kinda expecting he'll just give in and pacify her. Mas masaya 'yon kaysa isumbong lang niya sa dean ang unauthorized business nito sa campus. Panay ang refresh niya sa email hanggang makarating sa school at makababa sa sasakyan. Mula sa main gate ay maglalakad pa siya papunta sa department ng Special Science Class. O pwede ring kay Dean na siya dumeretso.
Malaki ang ngiti na pinicturean niya ang daan. Pumunta siya sa email at in-attach ang litrato do'n.

Saka niya sinend 'yon kay Alexander. Nag-refresh siya, may pumasok agad na mensahe mula dito. Lalong lumapad ang ngiti niya.

She was finally satisfied. Itinago na niya ang phone sa bulsa at umatras para bumalik na ng daan. Tumama ang ilong niya sa matigas na... malambot na... mabangong bagay?
"Aw," sapo niya ang ilong nang salubungin kung saan siya tumama.
She was welcomed by a fresh masculine scent with hints of shower soap. Towering her was Alexander The Great in flesh. Bagsak ang buhok nito, medyo basa pa 'yon. May sukbit itong headphones sa leeg at parang inaantok ang mga mata. Naglabas ito ng isang brown envelope at marahang tinapik sa tuktok ng ulo niya.
"Aw, ano ba?" reklamo niya kahit hindi naman talaga masakit. Sinapo niya pa ang ulo para sa OA effect.
"Wala pang first class, dederetso ka na agad kay Dean. Ganyan ka pala kasama," inabot nito ang kamay niya at inilagay do'n ang envelope. "Read this well and good."
Niyakap niya ang envelope saka ngumiti dito. "Copy, boss," she even saluted at him.
He squinted his eyes at her and smiled a bit before shaking his head. "You don't really know what you're getting yourself into."
She squinted her eyes at him. "Try me."
Alexander crossed the distance between them in an instant. He snooped down a bit to level himself to her while putting both his hands in his pockets, all without breaking eye contact with her. Parang tumalon ang puso niya nang maramdaman ang maliliit na paghinga nito na tumatama sa taas ng labi niya. Napadiin ang yakap niya sa envelope. She felt her blood rushing to her head, concentrated on her cheeks. He smirked at her before moving back and standing straight on his back.
"You know the first rule," inabot nito ang ilong niya at magaang pinisil 'yon. "Don't fall in love with me."
He winked at her and Juris felt her heart somersault again.
