...

Vivienne nervously fixed her hair for the umpteenth time in mirror. She had her hair in a low bun to prevent it from getting in her face while skiing. Finally satisfied with how it looked, she stared in the mirror and into her own eyes.

She was scared. This would be the first man she'd go on a date with since her last relationship and she was scared shitless.

But she knew she had to move on at some point, heaven knows Noah already did. Bless his new girlfriend, by the way.

Vivienne left the house and locked the front door behind her before walking towards the ski resort on the other side of town. Charles had told her to meet him at the ski lifts that would take them higher up the mountain.

A cheesy smile took over her lips as she locked eyes with Charles who was busy fixing his gear. "You look good." She said when she got to him.

"You look better." Charles smiled reaching to pulling her in for a hug. "You smell nice." He muttered into her shoulder.

"Thank you." Now, what did Charles mean by that? Because she didn't have any perfume on. Pheromones? Probably.

He liked how she felt in his arms, small and fragile. Everything about her, he liked. Her dimples, curly hair, body and more.

Vivienne didn't want to pull away from the embrace. Charles held her tight, like he was scared to let her go and that sent her mind reeling. When last did a man hold her like this? It had been years and now that Charles held her in his arms, she didn't want to let go.

"We should probably get on a lift."

"We should."

Yet, they still didn't let go. They savoured each moment taking in their scents. Vivienne really liked his cologne.

The sound of people laughing and coming out of the resort brought them back to earth and they pulled away this time with deep red cheeks.

After getting onto the ski lift and up the slope, Charles and Vivienne spent the hours skiing down the slope together.

They would create little challenges for themselves like the person that could get the furthest would win which brought out the competitive spirit in both of them. Their yells and laughs could be heard from the ski resort.

"No ma cherie, you cheated. There's no way!" Charles exclaimed as he stopped next to Vivienne who was buzzing with excitement.

"You're just a sore loser, Charlie. Accept defeat." She rolled her eyes.

Charles just shook his head before taking off his visor and Vivienne did the same. "I'm hungry now. Can we please get some food?" She looked at him with hopeful eyes. He couldn't ignore the warm feeling in stomach.

Her eyes gave him butterflies and calmness simultaneously. The way her brown eyes watched his every movement with enchantment.

"Charles?" Vivienne smiled.
