Another day of hiding

Harry kept his mouth shut when the others were discussing the next house party. Harry used to like parties but started hating them since he defeated the dark Lord.

He genuinely loved watching people be free again but it just seemed a little unfair to him that he doesn't get to be himself.

He doesn't get to act like he would like because the chosen one should be acting all serious and strong.

He doesn't get to come out as gay. His every move is watched which just makes him more insecure than ever.

He is done being the brave hero. He wants to be taken care of once and to take care once.

Not taking care of the whole world but taking care of his loved ones.

Regulus watched the game of exploding snap seriously and was thinking of strategies Harry could use but when he glanced at Harry he found him staring into space.

"Hey!" He grabbed his attention.

"Right. Sorry." Harry focussed back on the game. His friends looked at him very concerned at his behaviour.

Regulus instructed him on what to do. Harry did exactly that without putting much thought into it. He wasn't exactly interested in the game. When everyone gasped Harry realised he had just won and defeated both of his extremely smart besties.

He laughed. Regulus smirked and checked his nails.

"I'm so smart." He smiled at Harry who shook his head at him.

"You did so amazing mate." Ron complimented, "Have you been practicing exploding snap?"

"You can say that." Harry said.

"Liar." Regulus muttered in the background.

Harry was glad nobody else could hear Regulus.

Regulus had grown quite fond of Harry  in the last few days. Harry looked so much like his father. His eyes were beautiful just like Lily. Regulus loved Harry's eyes. Regulus had similar green eyes too and could just imagine if Harry was his and James' child he would totally look almost the same as how he looks now.

Regulus blushed at the thought. If ghosts can blush that is. He thinks of such childish things.

Harry stood up and went to his room. He wore a green oversized sweatshirt he had bought when he was shopping with padfoot and moony.

He sat down on his bed and started reading 'Heartstopper'.

He read how Nick stops Charlie from saying sorry and how Charlie was brave enough to come out. He loves the book so much.

He grabbed the book and decided to go get a snack from the kitchen. Regulus followed him.

On his way he saw Malfoy hanging around with his best friends. Pansy and Blaise. He looked so cool in the outfit he was wearing.

"Dude you're a simp." Regulus facepalmed at Harry's behaviour.

"You don't get to decide what I do." Harry told him.

When they reached the kitchens, Harry and Regulus sat on the floor and Harry chewed on the stuff he was given by the house elves.

"So, how is Sirius?" Regulus had finally gathered the courage to ask Harry about his brother.

"Well padfoot-" He was cut off by Regulus' snort, "What?"

"Nothing. I just find the nickname hideous." Regulus explained.

"Padfoot is perfectly fine and in love with moony." Harry explained.

Regulus smiled but stopped as soon as he realised he was smiling.

They talked a little and then Harry decided to spend his day in the R. O. R.

On his way to the R. O. R. his 'Heartstopper' was stolen by Malfoy.

"What are you reading Potter?" Malfoy made a scene in front of everyone and brought Harry back into everyone's attention.

Harry blushed deeply.

"Give it here Malfoy." He tried to sound strong and he always pulls it off.

"Heartstopper." Malfoy read the cover.

Harry tried to take his book back but Malfoy was too strong.

Malfoy was more easier to defeat once upon a time but now maybe Harry is growing weak.

Finally Harry pushed Malfoy and took back his book. Malfoy looked stunned at first but smirked once again.

"Are you gonna cry?" He mocked Harry when he looked at the expression on Harry's face.

"Shut up!" Harry's throat felt heavy and all he wanted to do was teleport to the R. O. R. with Malfoy and cry in his lap about why did he have to say that. He wanted Malfoy to comfort him and say that he is the biggest dickhead ever.

Harry stormed off to the seventh floor and went straight into the R. O. R.

Harry jumped on the bed that had appeared and cried all over the pillow. He then read his book while crying.

Why was his life such a mess? Why did he like Malfoy even when Malfoy acted like this towards him. Harry was miserable.

"It's ok Harry." Harry heard Regulus say.

"I told you he is not worth listening to." Regulus smiled at Harry.

Harry sat up to face Regulus.

"You have the worst crush on the worst person." Regulus chuckled.

Harry chuckled too.

"Trust me. I know how it feels." Regulus remembered liking the boy who was head over heels for another girl. Liking the boy who hated him. Liking the boy who was best friends with his brother.

"You liked a red flag?" Harry smiled at him.

"No I was the red flag and i liked a green one." Both of them laughed.

"Who was it?" Harry asked and Regulus began to wonder how would Harry react if he told him that.

"Some other day kid." Regulus saved himself and layed down beside Harry.

Harry continued reading his book.
