The university halls at this time were eerily quiet, free from the usual bustle of students. Every step we took echoed off the walls, amplifying the silence between us. I could feel the awkwardness settling in, a tension I wasn't sure how to break. I didn't really know what to talk about, and the longer the silence stretched, the more uncomfortable I became.
As we walked, I found myself glancing at P' Sky, who seemed entirely at ease-or at least indifferent to the silence. I wonder if I should say something, maybe offer to let him go on his own to handle his errands. After all, I didn't want to be a burden or get in his way.
Should I say something? Should I tell him he can just go on his own? The thought kept circling in my mind, but I couldn't bring myself to speak up. Instead, I kept walking feeling like I was on the edge of saying something but never quite crossing the line.
"Do you mind if I ask you something?" P' Sky's voice suddenly echoed through the empty hall as he stopped walking and turned to face me.
"Ahh... Sure, Phi," I nodded, a little unsure about what it could be. "Just ask anything."
"Have we met before?" he asked, tilting his head as if searching for something familiar in my face.
"I don't think so, Phi," I replied, looking away, a bit embarrassed under his scrutiny.
P' Sky's gaze didn't waver as he studied me, clearly deep in thought. "I asked because there's something familiar about you," he explained, his tone more thoughtful than before. "But maybe I'm just imagining things."
I felt a slight flush creep up my neck, unsure how to respond. "I don't think we've met, Phi. I've been abroad since I was 9 years old." I said softly, still avoiding his eyes.
P' Sky shrugged, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "No worries. I might be mistaken." He didn't elaborate further, leaving the statement hanging in the air as he turned back towards the hallway.
"So," he continued, shifting gears effortlessly, "since we're heading to the club halls, I might as well give you the rundown. There are a lot of different clubs here─probably more than you'd expect. Each one's got its own thing going on."
He glanced at me briefly to make sure I was following along. "For example, there's the music club where I am part of. We've got everything from full band to solo practice rooms. It's a pretty chill place if you ask me."
His voice became more animated as he talked about the clubs, a clear sign of his interest. "Then there's the drama club─putting on some play or other. They're a lively bunch, View is part of them. If you're into stage play or acting stuff, that's your place to be."
He continued listing the clubs as we rounded a corner, each description painting a vivid picture of the campus's vibrant student life. "The art club's another good one. They're always working on something creative, whether it's painting, sculpture, or even graphic design. If you're into visual arts, you should check them out."
P' Sky paused for a moment, as if considering something, before adding, "And of course, there's the sports club─pretty much everything you can think of about sports."
As he spoke, I found myself listening intently, appreciating how he made each club sound intriguing. It was clear he knew the campus inside out, and his passion for it came through in his words.
Finally, he glanced over at me again, his expression softening a little, "So, is there anything that catches your interest? Or are you still figuring things out?"
"I'm kinda interested in every club, but mostly in music," I said, trying to keep my voice casual.
"You can always dabble in other clubs too. No one's going to stop you from exploring."
