Maybe it's the fact that I let my grandpa choose what car I ought to buy that I am very much regretting now. I should've insisted that I should be the one to choose the brand and model because the BMW 8 Series Coupe is not really what I expected to have.
"Whoever chooses this car for you wants you to be spoiled rotten." P' Sky commented after gaping at the car that the sales agent brought us.
"To be clear, I regret letting him choose." I said, defensively, afraid that he will misunderstand me as a spoiled rich kid.
P' Sky smirked a little but didn't push the topic further. "Alright, let's see what this beauty has to offer," he said, shifting his attention to the sales agent who was already waiting by the car with the keys.
As we approached, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and hesitation. The agent gave a quick nod, unlocking the car and gesturing for us to take a closer look. The car was undeniably stunning, with its sharp design, and elegant curves. But it wasn't what I'd envisioned for myself.
P' Sky leaned in, glancing at the interior as the agent opened the door. "M850i model?" he asked, sounding knowledgeable about it.
"Yes," the agent confirmed, stepping aside for us to inspect it further. "The car features a V8 engine with 523 horsepower, adaptive suspension, and full leather upholstery. Perfect for a smooth and luxurious ride."
Sky let out a low whistle, impressed. "Not bad. You'll definitely make an entrance with this."
"Oh, that's the last thing I ever wanted to happen." I slid into the driver's seat, feeling the smoothness of the leather beneath me. The interior was refined—polished wood accents, a large touchscreen display, and ambient lighting. But even as I admired the craftsmanship, I still think it's too lavish for me.
P' Sky was amused but didn't say anything more, his eyes roaming over the car one last time. "Alright, let's get this over with. You still need to get groceries, right?"
The sales agent handed me the keys after a final round of paperwork. "Enjoy your new car, sir. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call."
I nodded, pocketing the keys. As we stepped inside the gleaming BMW, I could still feel P' Sky's gaze lingering on me, amused but saying nothing. "We can worry about the choice of car later," I said quickly, eager to shift the focus.
"I didn't say anything." P' Sky teased, as he started the engine.
The ride to the parking lot of the mall is smooth, we get a lot of attention from the onlookers as we pass by.
"I can't get used to this." Shaking my head aspirated.
I heard P' Sky laugh and said, "You'll get used to it. You're not the only one who could drive a very expensive car at the campus so don't worry too much."
"Are you sure?" I looked at him for affirmation.
He nodded his head then scanned the surroundings. We just arrived at the parking lot just outside the entrance of the mall.
"Planning meals for the week or just grabbing what you need?" P' Sky asked as we entered the grocery.
"I haven't really thought about it," I admitted. "Probably just grabbing whatever I think I'll need."
"We should split up to save time," P' Sky suggested, grabbing a shopping basket, glancing over at me. "You get what you need, and I'll meet you at the entrance."
I nodded, relieved for the brief separation. "Sounds good."
Without another word, we went our separate ways, maneuvering through the aisles. I found myself slowing down, staring at the rows of food, trying to decide what I even needed. My thoughts drifted back to the car again, still unsure about how I felt.
