[Hilda's POV]

Hmm the Atlas should be in this section... ah there it is, I reached for the book on the top shelf- THUD. ow?!

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, are you ok?" the girl picked up her glasses as and looked up at me. "Yea I'm fine but are you? Why are you running in a library?" I asked, concerned.

The girl turned to look over her shoulder and looked back at me. "I'm trying to run away from this creep of a dude, Reese Romes, who won't take no for an answer!" A tear formed in her eyes.

A stalker? "And what's your name sweetheart?" I asked, taking out my handkerchief for her.

She took it and wiped her eyes, "Maria. My name is Maria Bishop. Thank you ...?" Bishop? As in the holy Bishop family??This girl might prove useful to me in the future. "I'm Hilda Greenberg," I said, taking the handkerchief back.

"Thank you Hilda," she paused for a moment, putting her glasses back on. "Um would you mind if you could maybe- oh uh if you did- I mean if I could ask that you walk with me back to my dorm? I mean it's because you're tall and you look strong and-" she started to mumble on, looking away from me.

I raised her chin with the book in my hand, "Strong huh? You're thinking that from just bumping into me?" She met my eyes and I saw a faint blush under her cheeks. "Of course I can walk with you," I chuckled, lowering the book.

"Really? Thank you again miss Greenb-!" She stopped as my fingers pressed against her lips. Her soft lips... I snapped back and told her, "Just Hilda, darling." "Right," she said, avoiding my gaze and turned around quickly.

"I live in dorm building C" she said, leading me out of the library. "Dorm C?" "Yea with my best friend. Oh I wonder what her reaction would be when I tell her what happened," she smiled. I was trailing behind her but the way the sun shined on her made her dimples look really cute.

Cute?! No, I don't think she's cute, I can't. Not after what happened last time...

"Hilda?"

Maria stopped and turned to face me. "What?" I asked upon the abrupt stop. "I said we're here. You can go back about your business now, I'll be fine going inside alone," she said.

My mouth opened before I realized, "I don't think so." "Huh?" "You said a creep was following you. He might be inside waiting for you so I'm going to deliver you directly to your room," I said sternly.

"Oh, ok" she said taking my free hand, "If I'm unsafe then it's best for us to hold hands so that you can stay close and protect me right?" I flinched from the contact but held her hand anyways, "Sure if you say so, dear."

I felt her grip slightly tighten at what I said and I grinned to myself. We walked through the lobby and into the elevator. "Which floor Bishop?" "The second one," she replied and I hit the #2 button.

=Ding=

We reached the second floor and walked out. She led me towards a room on the left, Room 214. "Wait let me get my keys," she said, letting go of my hand and searched her pockets for the key. She took off her backpack and looked through it while I stood there watching.

My hand went cold again as the warmth of her touch faded. I want to keep holding her hand. What? No of course I don't. Why would I ever want to hold hands with another human again?

"Shit. I'm sorry I forgot my keys. Give me a second to call Ivory," she said, dialing the number on her phone. Ivory? "Hey girlfriend I forgot my keys again. Can you come open the door for me please? I've got tea to spill too, ok thanks." Girlfriend?

I heard someone walking towards the door on the other side and the lock clicked open.
