Chapter 22

"It's me baby" he smiled. I was speechless. I took that time to study him.

He wore a plain white shirt, dark jeans, and black chucks. He also had on a chain around his neck, a few rings, and some diamond studs in his ears. He looked the same in the face. Same dark brown eyes. Same pink lips. Same caramel brown sugar skin tone. He wasn't that tall but he was taller than me by quite a few inches. His hair was short in a fade and he had a mustache that was more grown than in the past years. The last feature I noticed was that he was buff. Very buff. And he had a few tattoos. All of his features made me even more paralyzed. My fear of him came back in an instant as soon as he turned around.

".....w...why?" I choked still frozen in my place. "I came to see you baby" he said eyeing my body up and down. He licked his lips and bit his bottom lip.

"Why?" I asked again my voice still timid. "Because I missed you baby."

He reached out his hand to grab my waist. I took a step back.

"Dont" I simply stated. "Come on baby." He said trying to grab my hand. I slapped it away.

"I said no" I snapped. I don't know why I haven't closed this door in his face yet. I just cant.

"You've become quite fiesty. I love it" he smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"Jerome why are you here and when did you get out?" I asked not sure if I wanted to know the answers to those questions.

"Well I got out maybe a month ago. But I thought about you every day in that cell. Even though your the one who put me in there in the first place I still couldn't stop thinking about you. And when I got out you were all people talked about. You and some famous guy I guess you go with so I knew I had to come find you. I came to get you back. I want us to start a new life together as a family" he said looking deeply into my eyes. I couldn't believe a word.

I shook my head. "No" "Come on Tamia. I'm sorry for what I did to you. It was a mistake. I was young and dumb and stupid and I'm sorry. You probably won't ever forgive me but I want to try. Please. I want you back. Me, you, and my daughter. I want us to be a family" he said. I shook my head. "You had chance for us to be a family and you ruined that" I said reminiscing on the past. "I know baby. It was mistake. I'm sorry I want us to start over. I want it to be us together and our daughter" "You don't have a daughter Jerome" I replied. He rolled his eyes. "It takes two to make a baby Tamia and I know she's mine. Now let me see her" he said trying to get inside the house. I stepped in front of him blocking him from coming in.

"You don't have a daughter and you have no right being here. Please leave this house and me alone and don't come back" I said. "No. I'm not leaving till I see her" He stood his ground. "I said no Jerome. I gave you your chance and you didn't take it. I took care of her by myself. I didn't bail on her like you did.thats my daughter not yours. You didn't even want her. You weren't there for her and you weren't there for me. You never loved me and you never loved her. I dont know why you are trying to get us back now. You don't have a daughter and don't have me and never will. Now leave my house. I don't want to see you again."

I was proud of myself for stepping up to him. That's something I never did in the past. I was to afraid of what he would do.

I looked him dead in the eyes which I wish I hadnt. They turned from dark brown to black. His fist tightened at his sides showing his vein. He clentched his jaw as he skin turned a shade of red.

Fear immediately took over me. Jerome has always had anger problems. That's what got him in jail in the first place. You never wanted to see him get angry. I especially didnt.

He stepped in my face.

"I did everything for you! I cared for you! I loved you! I gave you everything! And all you did was get me locked up so don't you dare tell me I didn't care or loved you!" He screamed in my face. "I'm not leaving until I see my daughter!" He spat.
