When Chuuya is summoned to Mori's office, he quickly sets aside the paperwork he was working on and gets up. As he walks to Mori's office (which is in the same building), he wonders, "Mori probably just wants me to handle a mission...but what mission is so important that he's called me to his office?" Chuuya walks through the long corridors of the Port Mafia Tower to the elevator. It takes about a minute to reach Mori's office. When he's at the top, he knocks on the door and, after getting permission to enter, he sees a detective. 'I'll ask about that later,' he thinks to himself, then he bows as a sign of respect to his boss.

"You needed me for something, boss?" he says after straightening up.

"Ah yes, Chuuya-kun. You see, Yokohama has a problem. The HCSP (I can't remember if HCSP is correct or not, so can someone tell me, please) is trying to break through the border. Of course, we can't let that happen, so I'm deploying you to get the information we need. "Well, this explains the detective" and that means you are getting sent to UA. "...WHAT!!! That stupid hero school!! And don't you have to be like 14 or something, for God's sake, Mori, I'm 18."

"You see, I made a deal with the principal of UA so that he'll let two people go to UA as transfer students. "What deal? ...and who's the other...NO, no, I'm not going to UA, let alone with some bratty detective."

"You will start at UA by the end of this month. Here are the files that have your information and backstory...this will be a long-term mission, 3 years give or take. "WHAT! THREE YEARS! WHAT THE HELL, MORI!"

"And you will be accompanied by this detective, Ranpo Edagawa," the detective, or Ranpo, which Chuuya now knows to be his name, waves towards him.

"Boss, with all due respect, can't you give this mission to someone else?" Chuuya barely manages to keep himself from yelling.

"Oh? Does Chuuya-kun think he's not good enough? If that's the case, I can give it to someone else, if that is what you wish," Mori says with a dark look in his eyes. Chuuya knows that he won't be able to convince his boss to give this mission to someone else, and he hates Mori's passive aggressiveness, so reluctantly, he agrees.

"Well, now that that's done, you and Ranpo here are going to be living in the same apartment. You both have two days to get packed. Oh, and do only take a little bit. We don't want our cover to be blown, now do we? "That means I can't take any of my clothes since we're poor." "Now, why don't you both leave and get to know each other? After all, you will be roommates," Chuuya takes that as a sign to leave, so he does with the detective on his heels. "OK, so first off, once we move into our apartment, we need to get to know each other so we can answer any questions the kids may ask." For some reason, Ranpo pouts, "I already know that I'm not the greatest detective for nothing."
