As the sun finally sets, the raid on the Telmarine Castle must begin. The group agreed that Edmund and Maeve will stick together for the duration of the battle. Seeing as they are both strong in sword fighting skills and are of the most agile narnians. Along with that, Maeve has never engaged in real conflict before and no one can be entirely sure how she'll hold up.

Trufflehunter specifically told Edmund to take good care of Maeve, and he planned to upheld the promise he made. To the badger, the girl was like his daughter. It never easy seeing your loved ones go to war and Edmund knows that all too well.

They fly in swiftly on two Griffins towards the castle. Maeve is internally freaking out, praying in her head she won't be dropped too soon. Since she was a child she has been absolutely terrified of heights. That fear generally isn't relevant in her day to day life, but right now it truly hinders her confidence. Edmund gives a look to the girl and smiles slightly. It's clear she's incredibly nervous but he knows that she has no reason to be.

As much as he wants to say something to comfort her, he can't blow their cover. The only way to make this plan work is by staying completely silent. Besides, the large grey castle is coming into view and it will be moments before they're dropped.

They're placed down on a rigid rooftop, hiding from the guard that stands a few feet below. Balancing on the sphere roof is not easy, especially staying out of sight from the guard. Maeve thought she was ready for this task. She had spent years in Narnia waiting for something to happen that made life worth living and she finally has it.

She takes one careful step in Edmund's direction, her back resting against the roof. But this castle is old, and her movement caused a small piece of stone to fall from under her.

Before she can fall, an arm grabs ahold of her by the waist. Edmund, who holds her up with one arm, is careful with his movements, not wanting to drop the girl but also needing to remain completely silent. The noise from the stone falling has already been noticed by the guard. The king uses all of his strength to pull her up fully and moves her to his side.

He sends the signal to the griffin above, needing to get rid of the guard as soon as possible. As soon as the guard is lifted up from the castle by the griffin, Edmund and Maeve jump down.

"Are you alright?" The boy whispers, his hand still resting gently on her waist.

She takes a few deep breaths, stabilizing herself before she replies. "Yes, thank to you."

It's unlike the two of them to ever be completely serious. But standing on this castle together under the stars, it's the most serious they've ever been about anything.

As much as they would like to stay like this forever, they can hear the footsteps of another guard down below. "So, I guess we should uh."

Edmund coughs slightly, removing his hand from Maeve's waist. "Yeah uh i'll send the signal." He pulls out the flashlight from his bag, flashing the light to let the other griffins know it's time to raid.

Maeve begins to spot the 3 sets of large wings flying in the distance. The signal worked.

Almost every Narnian had a role in this night raid. No body could go to waste. The rodents could break into the castle easily through small tunnels underground. While the larger Narnians stood outside, ready to attack on command. Caspian, Peter, and Susan all flew above the castle on griffins, slowly talking down guards one by one from above.

Edmund continued to signal with the flashlight, showing the three where the remaining guards were standing. This of course caught the attention of a guard down below that was now aiming his crossbow directly at Edmund.
