"If you take the east, I can take the west." Rosa spoke as her and Minho ran down the hallway.

"Are you kidding? We're not doing that." Minho spoke.

He reached out and grabbed Rosa's hand slowing them both down.

Rosa furrowed her brows looking at Minho in confusion.

She also looked around the dark corridors scared that something might appear and find them.

They needed to take their own advice and keep moving before a Griever caught up.

"Ross, I'm not leaving you. We're not separating."

Rosa pulled out of Minho's hold. "Don't be stupid Minho, this isn't the time to -"

"I'm not leaving you." He spoke forcefully.

"Someone has to survive this!" Rosa snapped at him.

Didn't he understand the gravity of this situation? This honestly wasn't the time.

They had already left behind Thomas and her brother, something Rosa was trying too hard not to think about otherwise she would cry or rip out her hair or both.

A breakdown wouldn't save her or Minho or Thomas.

They had to keep moving.

"Hey." Minho placed his hands on either side of her face.

"If I have to face oblivion or the grimy grievers, I'm doing it with you."

Hot tears ran down Rosa's face, she pulled Minho's hands away.

"Don't be freaking ridiculous!" She felt the urge to slap him right now.

"You're the one who reminded me of the freaking promise back there! Our goal here is to survive and get -"

"Alby's gone!" Minho screamed.

Rosa watched as he shook and cried.

It was easy to forget that they were only kids out here. But she had never believed it more than she did now as she saw Minho break down an sob.

"And we're next." He spoke in a shaky voice.

Minho always tried to be brave and strong around her. She never saw this side of him.

And she forgot a lot about the human part of this boy that she loved. Alby was his friend. One of his best friends. His brother.

And although he tried to hide it, Minho got scared too.

Rosa walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him, crying as well.

She didn't want to die. She didn't want her brother to die or Minho. She didn't want Thomas to die and she didn't want to think about never seeing Newt again. Or any of the other Glader's.

She was scared. And she hated the people who had done this to them.

Everyday she risked her life to come out here and look for a way out never coming up with anything. Yet she had never felt as hopeless as she did now. In the blink of an eye she could lose everything that mattered all at once.

"We can't just give up." Rosa spoke in a small voice as she pulled away from Minho.

Even as she said it, she knew there was no fight in her.

How many people had they seen get stuck out here never to return. Or at least never to return alive. They were doomed and they both knew it.

"Yeah well, we can't win either." Minho let out a laugh that sounded more insane than it did humoured.
