The morning was quiet and calm, but Haydée felt somewhat uneasy. She had woken up in Charles's apartment, where she had stayed overnight because no one would have kicked her out in the middle of the night. She could have gone to her parents, who would have welcomed her with open arms, but she definitely didn't want to show up at their door in the middle of the night, crying and begging for a place to stay. Leo greeted her in the morning with a cheerful wag of his tail, and remembering how he had curled up at her feet the night before, she felt grateful for being able to stay. Charles and Alexandra had given her the space and support she needed, reminding her how much she appreciated them.

She decided to cook something as a thank-you. A quick breakfast would be ideal, so she got dressed and went out to the store for a few ingredients. The morning sun was gently warming, and as she walked through the quiet streets of Monaco, she tried to sort out her thoughts. The store wasn't far, and she allowed herself to be carried away by the thought that simple acts like cooking might help her find a bit of peace amid the chaos.

However, as she came out of the store with a bag full of fresh pastries and a few other ingredients, she ran into Arthur. He was standing there, as if he was about to head somewhere, and when their eyes met, they both froze for a moment. There was a strange tension between them that had never been there before.

"Hi," Arthur spoke first, his voice quieter than usual. Had he finally realized what he had done yesterday and how he had messed things up?

"Hi," Haydée replied, trying to stay calm, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. She had never felt so uncertain around him before. They had always been close, and although they occasionally argued, their relationship was friendly and easygoing. Now it was different. The words he had said to her last night still hung in the air.

They stood there for a few seconds, neither speaking. Haydée felt she should say something, but she couldn't find the right words. The silence was suffocating. Finally, she decided it would be better to simply leave than to complicate the situation further.

"I... I need to go," she said and started to turn away.

But Arthur stopped her, quietly adding, "Do you remember Charles's birthday party last year?"

Haydée stopped and turned back to him. "Yeah, what about it?" she asked, puzzled. It had been a regular party that all the guests enjoyed, especially Charles, who got so drunk that he spent the next two days in bed recovering from a hangover—his personal trainer wasn't thrilled, but everyone understood it was his birthday, so they quickly forgave him.

"That night... it was a special night," Arthur began, visibly hesitating on how to continue. "We were all drunk and..." He paused, then took a deep breath. "I told you something important that night. Something you probably didn't hear."
