Nitro’s POV
It’s been awhile since Neon got pissed at me for telling the kids about the short time we had in college. I think it was a couple of years, but it wasn’t anything that was too bad… or at least I think so. Neon might see it as something completely different since she’s well, pissy about everything since we had Paris and Amber.

I mean, it’s not all bad but she does have her moments where she’s going to get pissed for no reason, it’s actually quite funny as she doesn’t really know what she gets mad at herself. Eh, it’s whatever.

The bonus to all of this is that I’ve been able to see my own kids grow up and live their young lives as much as they can. Both of them started 7th grade recently and they say that everything has been going well, but I can’t help but feel a little… off about their words. I’ve tried talking to Neon about it but she doesn’t really seem to pick up on it. It’s mildly irritating but it’s whatever, my best thing to do right now is just leave them alone and trust them on it.

It doesn’t help the stress of work that comes all with this, especially during rush hour… fuck mon.. being a chef sucks, especially while trying to co-organize a tournament. I just hope Neon knows that I'm trying my best for a lot of this... for her and the kids...

. . .

I closed my notebook and set it down on the nightstand before I stared up at the ceiling of mine and Neon’s room. I only have a short while before Neon comes back and suffocates me with her affection. I let out a long, drawn out sigh as I sat up. The bed creaked softly under me while I propped myself up on the wall, changing my gaze to the blank, beige that sat in front of me.

I looked around the room, wanting to remember everything I’ve experienced just in the past decade. The big things that really came to mind were just idiotic things that happened during my time in college with everyone… and dying. That was definitely something.

Dust and Jet were another big point, their antics and stupidity. Gem being the bitch of the group. Neon… we’ll… she’s just Neon, I don’t really have much for her. Torch… holy shit, that fireball. I haven’t talked to him in awhile, which actually makes me feel kinda bad since it’s been a whole decade since me and that fucker talked. Shrub… I actually mostly forgot about, she was always kinda just there, except when Dust made his sex jokes. Mystic was always dull, and didn't really have much to her, like ever. Since childhood too, she didn’t really have much to her.

I sat there as the realization dawned on me that I haven’t really spent the time to talk to anyone I used to in college, see how they’re doing. That I haven’t talked to my childhood friend that practically saved my life when I was merely a 12 year old kit. Fuck… I’m not a good friend.

Torch’s POV
I blankly stared at Mystic while she tried to explain something, I didn’t know what she was trying to explain. “Torch. It’s not that difficult to figure out how to talk to a kid.” She stated, sounding slightly annoyed. I blinked, “Well, he should just learn big words.” I rebutted. Mystic wasn’t having any of it as she walked up to me and grabbed my shoulders.

“Torch, baby. It shouldn’t be that difficult to talk to our 3 year old kit. He’s not going to know what big words you’re trying to use with him.” Mystic explained with a slight tone of remaining annoyance and a tinge of frustration. It took a long minute for it to finally click in my head, “Ohhhhh… right. I knew that Thatcher wouldn’t have been able to understand that.”

“Oh my fucking Arceus, Torch. You’re slow.” Mystic muttered with a loud sigh, putting her paw on her forehead and squeezing her fur gently. I blinked as she sighed loudly, “What?! I’m tired! I’m not used to staying up this late.” I mumbled back. It was only 10:28 pm but I haven’t stayed up past 10 pm in a long time.
