1. What inspired you to participate in the Cloud Awards contest on Wattpad?
Participating in the Cloud Awards contest on Wattpad was driven by my desire to make new friends within the writing community and receive feedback on where my book stands. I saw it as a fantastic opportunity to showcase my work to a broader audience and connect with fellow writers and readers who share my passion for storytelling. Additionally, the positive vibe I received from the community and the host made the experience even more inviting and motivating.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!2. Which book(s) are you participating with in this contest?
I'm participating with my debut novel "Cassandra de Ville"
3. Can you share a bit about the creative process behind your entry?
Crafting Cassandra de Ville was quite the adventure! Inspired by tangled family dynamics and long-held secrets, I dove into themes of legacy, identity, and uncovering the truth.
Developing characters like Cassandra was the key—she needed to feel real and multi-dimensional. Balancing suspense and juicy reveals kept the story exciting. Detailed outlines and timelines helped me keep everything in check, while research made sure the settings felt genuine.
Writing scenes, crafting dialogues, and tweaking emotional moments were all part of the fun.4. Did you face any challenges while writing your story? If so, how did you overcome them?
Facing challenges while writing is totally normal! For me, one big hurdle was forgetting details like character names and ages. So, I started keeping all that info in a document to reference whenever needed.
Plus, there were times when I just felt demotivated while writing. But I pushed through, reminding myself of the bigger picture and how awesome it would feel to finish the story. And it was totally worth it in the end!
Along the way, I've won a few awards and received some incredibly positive feedback. It's what kept me going—knowing that my work was being recognized and appreciated made all the hard work worthwhile.5. What aspect of your story do you think sets it apart from others in the contest?
I believe the standout aspect of my story is its plot. With its unique twists, turns, and unexpected developments, my narrative offers readers an engaging and unforgettable journey. This plot sets my story apart from others in the contest, captivating readers and leaving a lasting impression.
6. Are there any specific authors or stories on Wattpad (or outside of it) that inspire your writing?
Actually, I'm a big fan of thriller, mystery, action and mafia books and movies (mostly movies). Therefore, while watching them and reading books inspired me most to write out my own novel. And also, I have hosted a few Awards over the past few years, therefore reading their books also inspired me to start my own.
7. How do you typically approach character development in your stories?
When developing characters, I initially plan their backgrounds, personalities, motivations, and goals. As I write, I let them evolve organically through their actions and interactions. I focus on creating realistic growth arcs and seek feedback to refine their traits and behaviors. This balanced approach ensures dynamic and relatable characters in my stories.
8. What's your favorite feedback or comment you've received on your story so far?
One of my favorite pieces of feedback on my story was when readers described how they felt fully immersed in the world I created, experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions alongside the characters and the plot twists. They never knew what would come next. Knowing that my writing had such a powerful impact on someone, evoking genuine emotions and keeping them engaged from start to finish, was incredibly rewarding and motivating for me as a writer.
9. Do you have any rituals or routines you follow when writing?
I don't have any specific rituals or routines that I follow when writing. I find that flexibility and spontaneity often work best for me. However, I do try to create a comfortable and quiet environment where I can focus and let my creativity flow.
10. What advice would you give to aspiring writers looking to enter contests like the Cloud Awards?
For aspiring writers looking to enter contests like the Cloud Awards, my advice is simple: Write from the heart, edit meticulously, seek feedback, stay positive and don't get discouraged, engage with the community, and above all, believe in yourself.
