The only thing that hadn't changed was Madam Yii's kindness. Equipped with an apron and spatula, she still prepared delicious food for her every day.

"I brewed a healthy chicken stew for you. Please eat it," Madam Yii said softly.

With a gentle smile, Mon replied, "I will eat it. Please make me some fish chowder too."

"Alright."

Looking at the weather outside, Madam Yii asked, "There's a lot of snow in the courtyard. Are you not going out to play in the snow? I remember that you used to love playing in the snow with Sam. Wouldn't your issues be resolved through a little play?"

Mon looked at the situation outside through the mirror. "It's snowing," she mumbled.

"I'm not going out. I'm going to take a nap."

With that, Madam Yii closed the curtain. She found it strange-Mon disliked fish, and she used to be quite lively.

Why had Mon become so listless and sullen to the point of not stepping out of the bedroom? She assumed that Mon was throwing a tantrum at Sam, so she didn't think too much about it.

After a few days' rest, Mon's discomfort gradually subsided. Every day, she would consume a large amount of protein and nutrients, which helped to replenish and maintain her white and red blood cell counts.

Sam came back home to rest every day, but they did not speak to each other.

They slept with their backs facing each other, separated by many pillows. Mon couldn't figure out what Sam was thinking.

A few days later, her health was much better than it had been before. Staring at the clock on the wall, she realized that Sam was not back yet. She thought Sam would be back late today. Mon headed towards a room she had never set foot in after what had happened between her and Sam.

As she was entering the password, Madam Yii called her. It startled Mon.

For the past few days, Madam Yii had pitied her and lent her phone to her as well. Hence, Mon had not lost contact with the outside world, but she still didn't know the cause of Sam's little sister's death, which spurred Mon to take a risk and search for information in Sam's mini office room.

As Madam Yii approached her, Mon thought that her plan had failed.

However, Madam Yii said, "The password has been changed. Let me help you."

Mon tilted her head.

"How can it be opened by you?"

"Oh... Sam gave me her office password so that I could clean her office without asking her to open her office herself when she was busy."

"Oh..." Mon nodded her head. "Thank you because you already opened it for me."

"Welcome. Anyway, I'll head back to the kitchen." Mon nodded her head. She entered Sam's mini office and noticed that it was no different from before.

Sam was an organized person, and Mon knew where she placed all her documents.

Soon, she located a mini box that always held Sam's favorite stuff. She took it and entered the password without thinking twice. "She still uses my date of birth for this," she thought, surprised.

Inside the box, she saw many objects, including several document folders. At first glance, she noticed the words "my sunshine" on a pink document. "It's for Joanne, I guess. This is not important."

She picked up a black document. "Song," she murmured.

"Have you given up on playing nice? Are you resorting to thievery now?"

Engrossed in reading the contents of the document, Mon was startled by Sam's sudden appearance. She dropped the files, which scattered all over the floor.

Why had she come back so early? Sam usually only returned home late at night. Although they were married, she was a little ashamed, especially since she knew that Sam hated it when people schemed behind her back. Mon swallowed nervously. Her expression was stiff as she said, "Y... you're back."

Sam was clad in a suit and tie, which outlined her tall and slender figure.

When her icy gaze fell upon her, she felt like she was trapped in a frozen cellar. Sam stalked toward her, taking wide strides with her long legs as she leisurely took off her blazer. Having been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she carried herself with an air of nobility.

Although she was merely removing her clothes, Mon was so frightened that she nearly lost her composure. She wanted to escape, but her legs seemed to be paralyzed. Before Mon was in a relationship with Sam, she was known for being a ruthless, merciless devil. Finally, she understood why everyone was afraid of her. She carried herself with an intimidating, terrifying air.

With each step Sam took toward her, she took a step back. Soon, her back was against the wall; she had no more space to retreat, and Sam was already in front of her.

"Did you see it?" asked Sam. Sam's voice was very calm, and Mon could read no emotions from her eyes. However, Mon knew that she was calmer when she was angry. Her eyes were dark as ink, hiding all emotion.

Swallowing nervously, Mon nodded warily before quickly shaking her head. While she had scanned it, she hadn't finished reading it; she had only read part of the autopsy report.

Sam lifted her chin, forcing her to meet her gaze. "Do you know why I didn't want that baby?" Mon thought for a moment. "Is it because of Song?" she murmured.

The autopsy report stated that Song's true cause of death was not drowning. She had been strangled before being thrown into the sea.

Another important piece of information was that May was four months pregnant.

"Absolutely, yes! The father who you think is the best person in the world has ruined my little sister's life!"

"My dad?! In this report, there is no mention of my dad ruining your little sister's life. Don't slander!" shouted Mon. "Even if they were in a romantic relationship, my dad would have treated her well and never hurt her!"

Sam took the document from Mon and turned the page. "Read this carefully!" She threw the document to Mon.

"The first three pages don't have your dad's name because I did that on purpose. I know sooner or later you will find out about the disgusting things your dad did to my little sister," explained Sam.

"Oh... she treated you well because she is your dad. What if you just a stranger to him? What will he do?" Mon read the report. She couldn't believe what she was reading now.
