"This is the truth, Mon."

Sam's tight grip on her chin began to hurt.

"She was my only little sister, whom I loved and cherished since I was a child. If she hadn't been abducted by human traffickers, she wouldn't have ended up like this. Do you know how tragic her death was? If it weren't for the DNA we left behind in the database, I wouldn't even be able to see her body, let alone the child forming in her womb," explained Sam with tears.

"Your father raped her. He also killed her! He is evil!" shouted Sam.

Mon broke free from her grip. She was afraid that Sam, who seemed to be unraveling, would kill her.

Sam was still lost in her thoughts. "For countless times over the years, I have imagined reuniting with her. But I never imagined that we would meet again under such circumstances. Mon, have you seen what a body looks like when it's soaked in seawater for half a month?" asked Sam. "Because of your dad, I can't give her the love of a sister. Not only that, I can't see what she looks like after she has been missing for a several years," she shouted again. "I can only see what Song looks like through pictures I have collected from people who know her. She has become a cute and beautiful teenager."

Despite the hollow look in her eyes, they were filled with sorrow. Mon had heard from Sam's grandma how much Sam had doted on her little sister. She had never given up on searching for her over the years.

Mon could understand how Sam felt when she was reunited with her little sister at the morgue. Sam had someone she cared about, and she also had someone she needed to protect.

"Are you sure my dad did this to your little sister? What if all this is just fake?" Mon still doesn't believe that Song's death has anything to do with her dad.

Sam's gaze suddenly changed, shifting from sorrow to aggression. "I investigated the matter more than twenty times. What I received was the same. Oh, by the way, the father you love keeps many surprising secrets."

"What secrets?"

"Do you know how many women your dad, whom you see as a proper gentleman, has had over these few years? Oh, I know. You will say that it's normal for a single man in his prime to have needs."

Sam was right; Mon did think that. Sam's next statement shocked her, making her jaw drop. "All the women your dad dated are around your age, or even younger than you. No one is as cruel as your dad. He put many women through abortions and others," said Sam. "The most miserable ones among them are now unable to conceive as they had through dilatation and curettage too. Some were infected with gynecological diseases for aborting at such a young age. The most unlucky ones among them ended up with mental health issues and committed suicide."

To Mon, her dad was a kind, benevolent man. Besides sponsoring students, he also frequently donated money to charity funds. In all the ways, her dad was righteous and humble. He was the perfect man. Mon flipped the pages and read the documents again.

The information clearly describes her dad. Even if those women had only been in a relationship with her dad for a few days, the evidence was clear.

In the span of a decade, her dad had ruined the lives of multiple women, all of whom were innocent and gorgeous. It was not difficult to understand this situation. Her dad was a handsome man. Despite being middle-aged, his regular workouts kept him fit. He was a refined, wealthy, and attractive fatherly figure, which seemed to be a trending archetype. Hence, it was normal that many young girls were attracted to him.

However, he seemed to have a thing for those from the countryside or from poor backgrounds. Perhaps it was because they seemed pure as they had yet to be tainted by the world.

Sam confirmed Mon's speculations.
"Do you think he sponsors children from rural areas out of goodwill? He only sees them as his prey. Your dad is a patient predator who takes his time to groom his prey. Those young women admired him since they were still in their teenage phase. When they come to the big city, your dad only needs to treat them a little better for them to be willing to climb into his bed. If they don't want to do what he says, he will threaten them and do things by force."

Mon wanted to deny it, but the evidence was right in front of her. Her gaze fell on Song's information. She had stayed by Melvin's side the longest, for a whole year.

Their relationship changed after she became pregnant. Song wanted to marry him and keep the child, but Melvin refused.

Aside from that, there was also the fact that they argued in a secluded corner of the hospital. On the night Song disappeared, Melvin had gone to her apartment.

In the wee hours of the night, around 2 a.m., Melvin left with a large suitcase. Song had a slender, petite figure, so she could have been forced into a suitcase. Similar murder cases had been reported before.

Since that day, Song disappeared, and shortly afterward, her apartment was rented out. All the remaining evidence was gone.

After two weeks, fishermen found Song's body and reported it. Since Sam had left her DNA at the police station when her little sister went missing, the police contacted her, and through her investigation, they discovered the truth. Mon looked at the photos scattered all over the ground. They were all women with bright, radiant smiles. Most of them had been abandoned, and several had even committed suicide.

Some continued their studies but became extremely withdrawn. Mon's fingers trembled as she held the photos, her mind filled with memories of her dad's smile.

She had given her the best of everything in the world but had hurt other young women. Tears dripped onto Song's photo. It was then Mon finally understood Sam's hatred. Song was as important to Sam as Melvin was to Mon.

"I'm not denying that he is a good dad, but he is definitely not a good person. Underneath that hypocritical facade lies the heart of an evil person. Mon, I won't hide anything from you anymore at this point," Sam said, down on one knee as she held Mon's face in her hands.

With a maniacal smile, she continued, "You were once everything to me. I loved you to the point of obsession. However, because you are Melvin's only daughter, the more I loved you, the more I hate you now."

Although she was smiling, Mon felt a chill run down her spine.
